Did anyone have Heat Stroke before getting Thyroid Cancer and when?

I am curious if anyone else had Heat Stroke at anytime in the years before their diagnosis. I had Heat stroke about fourteen years before and it seemed like I was never the same since. Just wondering if there is any association since the Thyroid acts as a thermostat to our bodies.

    That's weird. I had a heat stroke 37 years ago. I was admitted in the hospital and I had a mini stroke during my stay.

    Heat Stroke
    I wonder if there is any possible correlation? Since the Thyroid regulates our body temperature (and so many other things) could the heat stroke have done damage that pops up years later. So far you are the only one that has responded. Maybe some people aren't aware if they had a heat stroke? I am in the medical field and this subject has me curious. I spoke to a doctor that I work for about it and he raised his eyebrow and scratched his chin with a questioning look on his face. Thanks for your response!

    Heat Stroke...
    Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I have had two heat strokes prior to being diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer when I was 25 and had two heat strokes; one at age 15 and the other when I was 21.

    I had heat stroke when I was in high school. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos and Hurtle cell thyroid cancer at age 48.

    Thanks for your responses. I am thinking about a new research idea to find correlation between heat stroke and thyroid disease. Maybe this is a precursor. If so we can catch the disease earlier by watching the thyroid in those that have had heat stroke and warning people about the effects of heat stroke on the Thyroid.

    Hi, everyone. Your post, sunnyaz, was very interesting! Many years ago, probably 30, I also had several heat strokes. I also don't sweat hardly at all. Now, all these yrs. later I have developed follicular thyroid cancer and had a 2 stage total thyroidectomy finished on Oct. 22, 2010. Perhaps there is a correlation between heat stroke and thyroid cancer. Good luck with your research!

    I am barely starting the research project. I hope to gather enough data to print in a few years. I know that seems like a long time, but it takes so much time to get it all together. I already have some patients that are willing to be interviewed etc. Need lots of input and interviews from several different doctors as well. I may want to interview you in the next year if you would agree and are willing. I will ask anyone else on the boards to do the same. It will most likely be in the form of a questionnaire.
