Hi Gail,
We are in the same
Hi Gail,
We are in the same book and pretty close to the same page. I started oxy and 48 hr 5fu pump on monday. I'm scheduld for 8 treatments every 2 weeks. Same side effects so far we should stay in touch and compare notes as we do this. Thanks for responding to my post last week, since then i completed my profile so you can see who i am and what we have in common. We are going to beat this thing Gail.
Talk soon,
Tom0 -

Welcome to the FOLFOX club. There are a bunch of us at or just a little or so different rounds. I managed to eek out #4 out of 12 in spite of low platelets this week. Got scared when it looked like I'd have to wait a week or more. I'm trying so hard to stay on schedule because my reversal and hernia and adhesion surgery is on hold until I finish.
Hoping you do well with the FOLFOX!0 -
Woo Hoo Gail
WTG. 1 down. I hope you are feeling better each day. Don't forget to rest if you need to. I'm so bad about pushing myself and I really need to follow my own instructions sometimes. So, since I don't follow my suggestions ... I hope you do. LOL
I am having the hair everywhere thing going on too. Supposedly it's just going to thin and not all go away. We shall see. I'm getting tired of pulling a small pet out of the drain each time.

I don't like the feeling that I get in my throat. I get thirsty and want to have a drink of juice and it feels like something sharp is stuck there and now I am tired and have things that need to be done.0 -

I can only drink very warm or hot drinks myself. Everything else feels like glass shards in my throat. Try making your drinks wamrer. It makes a big difference. Teas, warm lemondade, hot chocolate.
I have started planning out my days and do things in spurts. The days before chemo when I'm feeling the best I do the most and get everything ready for what will be the chemo days where I don't do as much. Gotta plan ahead or things get away from me. You'll get the hang of it. Just requires a little adjustment. Stay warm and get some rest. HUGS0 -

I know what you mean. The only good thing is at least it's winter so we're not drinking hot drinks in the middle of summer. Gotta look for the bright side of things. UGH0 -
folfox #1
I also just did my first round of folfox and am having the same issue with cold sensitivity. I want to drink so bad but even cool water feels weird. And anything I touch makes my fingers feel like razors going over them. I am also sick to my stomach and I have these weird muscle contractions that make my fingers draw together (doc says it can just be meds wait and see) Hair has already started coming out, figured it would. I just feel kinda weird all over hope it goes away soon. Good luck to you keep my posted0
