Chemo number 6 is done...
I get TAC and I've been dreading the side effects of this last one...just tired of being tired. So I started thinking about all the things I am looking forward to...
My hair can start growing back.
I can throw away medicine bottles.
My skin soon won't be constantly dry.
Bye Bye to constipation and diarrhea.
My eyes should stop watering.
Soon no more neupogin injections.
This is the last chemo weekend.
Someday food will taste normal again.
And the biggie...I can see NED in the distance. I think he's picking out post surgery dance music.
Thank you all for your support. My journey would have been sooooo much more difficult without you holding my hand.

Congrats!!
Time to celebrate...I have 2 more treatments before 6.5 weeks of rads. I look forward to a future being able to post, like you, that I'm done!
Isn't it amazing that we are able to do this!! I never thought I'd make it this far in treatment.
How wonderful to be one!
You deserve to do something really special for yourself!

I hear you loud and clear. I didn't have the same cocktail (Taxotere/Cytoxan) but had my 6th and final treatment on Tuesday. Last Neulasta shot yesterday. I'm feeling optomistic about a better future without drugs! I see radiologist tomorrow but praying he says no rads since I had bilateral mastectomy and no lymph node involvement. I love your list of things to look forward to.......

Linda, in the book "After Breast Cancer," the author mentioned that she decided to celebrate the end of chemo by lining up all those #$%^*& medicine bottles in her driveway and driving her car over them.
You may want to try it! I sure remember well what it was like to have to carry all those bottles with me wherever I went for so long -- I wished I'd read that before I threw them all away.

Great news! I am so happy for you to have finished 6 TACs....that is hard I know...I had the same cocktail for 8 treatments and I crawled out of the chemo tunnel. But it all gets better I can assure you. I hope to be dancing with NED soon and will remind him of his future date with you! Hugs0 -

My "digestion" issues stopped immediately after chemo, and taste buds started improving day by day too. 6 weeks post chemo & i have the official 5 o'clock shadow on my head, and I went "topless" for the first time yesterday at my plastic surgeon's office. My hair is officially past the stubble stage & is now soft & coming in really fast.
For me, the first month after chemo I still felt really tired, achy, and even a little depressed. But after that, every day has been better than the previous, im getting my strength and energy back, hair's growing, I've even lost 9 lbs since finishing chemo (i attribute that to no more steroids -they made me ravenously hungry, and no more constipation). I hope you feel better every day from here on out Linda!!!

Your are now a 'Chemo Queen' - I see that finish line, oh its so close. Your strength, energy and zest for life - will return in phases as Heather stated. Little by Little. 1 day you will be doing something, or walking somewhere and you'll stop ..and think .. Oh my - I could not of done that 2 months ago, or remember when I could not walk upstairs more than twice a day .. little victories all around you!
Please take care, and baby yourself - as family and friends will disappear once your hair starts to grow back .. or after you have completed your chemo. They do not understand that it takes .. months for us Chemo Queens to get back on our feet, feeling normal. Chemo takes so much out of us -- and once we finish does not mean we are back to 100% percent chemo strength, energy and movement. Don't they recall all of our 'chemo brain' episodes?

Thank you all again for the support, advice and encouragement. So far, knock on wood, this chemo weekend hasn't been as bad as I expected.
@Traci...love the idea, but then I'd just have to sweep up the mess. I'm having lots of fun doing the slam dunk with those little bottles.
@Cavediver...I thought 6 was hard! I can't imagine 8 of them...I bow to your strength.
@Heatherbelle...thanks for the specifics, having a timeline helps with the anticipation...and hopefully my patience (I'm not very good at that).
@Vickisam...Unfortunately, I still have surgery and rads to get through. And many of my friends have offered to help in those areas. I suspect after that is when they'll start dropping off...although it will be sad regardless. I'm already working on the hubby and kids about their expectations of my "return to normal".
