I am back :)
Well, I had a high fever and got admitted into hospital. They put me on IV antibiotics but it took over a week to stablise my temperature. They did blood cultures and things statred to grow (whatever that means) but they never got to the bottom of where my infection was. I am convinced it was somewhere in my gut as I had stomach and bowel problems which have since got better.
Whilst I was in they discovered I had fluid build up around my left lung. This didn't surprise me as my breathing was very difficult. So they popped a chest drain in to drain it all away. In total they drained 2 1/2 litres which was an instant relief.
As you may remember I was on Doxil and had been very sick with it. My oncologist was concerned that the fluid should buid up whilst I was on this drug and he asked me how I felt on it. I told him how sick I was. He clearly thought this drug wasn't for me and has now put me back on the old faithful...........carbo/taxol as I had such a good result last time and I tolerated it well.
I am now home after spending 2 1/2 weeks in hospital. I had my chemo 2 days ago and am feeling a little delicate but I am hopeful things will continue to get better. My CA125 did come down a little for the few weeks I was on Doxil but I am hoping the carbo/taxol will get to work and do its thing now.
Thank you to everyone who has sent me good wishes. It is good to be back.
Tina xx
