Pain and itching after hair loss??

Gentian Eyedrops were the ones my onc's nurse practitioner recommended for dry eye. I shaved my head before my hair began falling out, so I can't address those symptoms. However, I did wash my scalp with Nizoral shampoo (bought for my hubby's dandruff). I'd read on another forum that a lot of ladies used this. I wore my wig twice I think, LOVED my scarves!0 -

I am three weeks out from my first chemo (2nd one this Friday). My scalp hurt more the 2nd week out from chemo than it does this week. I didn't shave it but had it cut really short. It is about 80% gone. My scalp seemed to hurt less as the hair REALLY started coming out. Perhaps it hurt more the second week as it was "getting ready" to fall out? I don't know. I have shelved my expensive hair care products and now I am wondering do my expensive facial care products now go up and over the (once) forehead? Just kidding...kinda.0 -
Scalp pain remedies?
I am almost 3 weeks out from my first chemo, and my hair is falling out constantly. Today my wonderful hubby sheared it off to a buzz cut. It helped enought to put on my new wig that I love. However, in a few hours my scalp is SO sore that I had to take off the wig again. The soreness seems to come from any movement across my extremely short hair. Now I'm feeling sad and frustrated, when I have had such a good attitude up to this point.
Does anyone have remedies that you've tried (and worked) for sore/painful scalp?

kcfromtx, I am a visitor from
kcfromtx, I am a visitor from the Uterine board and saw your post. You might want to do a little search over there as we have had some threads on this too. This one is an older thread and I don't think some of these ladies still follow.
I will add, there are ups and downs, and I am so sorry to hear you are in a 'down' right now. It is hard. I remember crazy crazy itchiness!! I was losing my mind. It might take a little time, and as a suggestion, you might want to take an old t-shirt and create a turban wrap. There are videos out there showing this, and a super soft t-shirt was comfy, especially hanging out at home, and easy to wash when my hair was still falling out.
