I GOT IT FOLFOX # 4 anyway

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!

Just a quick note as this round hit me hard again. Platelets bounced up to 97 and onc said ok, let's do it. Was told to watch for nose bleeds again. Seems it's my body's signal to let me know. Love the way the body works ... when it's working right. Told that if they drop again they will most likely drop lower than last time. Was told if I get a nose bleed to call inmmediately and come right into the clinic because last week my platelets were at 48 and they want to trasnfuse me if it happens again. Good news is I don't have to push out my surgeries that I need and other is that my body bounced the platelets back up in a pretty fashion. Had to wait around to get the approval from onc to go ahead since the platelets were still below 100 but, woo hoo ... 3 points wasn't that big a deal. Thanks to my semicolon family for being here and so supportive. I love you guys!!!

    I'm still ahead of you folfox wise. My platelets jumped from 45000 to 66000 so Onc said I could due #5 today or take a week off. He too said he expects a big drop in the count after this treatment thus the week delay. I opted to do the #5 today and delay #6 one week because it is just before Christmas. He wants me back into the 90,000 too. So if you stay on schedule you should catch me in late December. I'm not sure I would call this a victory just look at the price and prize. Still good to hear some good news from you. I'm looking forward to you being NED and the Naked Dancing. Take care kid Lou

    As tempting as it might be especially at this time of the year, stay away from crowds, you don't need to be catching a cold or anything compromising your treatments. If it means just shopping on the net this year, so be it, the lights and festivities will be waiting for you next year.

    I feel fortunate that my 3rd folfox went well sort of.
    I am going to take Tinas advice as well and stay away from Malls and shopping centers.
    Been researching how to bumpup platelets naturally ? found nothing so far
    Away well done, the medicine is floating around us tonight killing those pesky persistent little colorectal cancer cells. I went for a goood hours walk to pumpt the folfox mix through. I think it worked.
    I hope you bounce back. Now I have my blood tests I am learning what all the abbreviations mean.
