Well, Kerry came home today. He talked the doctors into letting him be released and he should not have come home yet. He is in pain, very weak, nauseated, disoriented and besides that, he left so fast that he didn't even take his release papers. I don't know what he's suppose to eat or what medications he is suppose to take. But the good side of all this is that the bag is gone and he has not had any "accidents!" He is now asleep on the couch with Minnie dog guarding him. I'm sure he'll tell you all about everything later on.

    Is that you Susie?
Thanks for giving us the 411 on Kerry. He is a very determined man; he must have really wanted to get the heck out of there! I bet he will recover well under your loving care, + of course with Minnie's help (what a cute name!). Thanks again!

    Thanks so much
Thanks so much for letting us know that he 'broke out' and is home with his lovely wife!

Tell him to take it easy, the wood splitter and we here will be around when he is feeling more himself.

    Hugs to you both

Thanks for letting us know about Kerry being home. Definitely call the hospital yourself and find all the info out & keep an eye on him! He's sure got a strong willpower, doesn't he? Hopefully that zest and zip is what will keep him going and help heal him up.

    Take care,
    Lisa

    Glad
Oh, me. I'm glad he's home, but I sure wish you had those instructions! Tell him we're all waiting for him to get better and give us a report from his point of view. *grins*

    *hugs*

    The comfort of home
Ahhh, the idea of the comfort of his home, his loving wife, his adoring dog seems to have proved too much for him to continue his stay in the hospital, eh?
Thank you for letting us know, you're a darn good woman.

    Stubborn:
Kerry is such a strong willed man. I can just see the heck he would raise if he didn't get his way. Hopefully, he didn't give the nurses too bad a time but I did hear that they popped a bottle of champagne when he checked out.

If he doesn't listen to you and do everything you tell him, just threaten to take him back to the hospital.

    Take care - Tina

    Thanks
For the update. Keep him hydrated and make him rest. That darn ol coot! He would leave as fast as he could without papers or instructions. Guess he showed them! LOL

As for his food, try to keep him maybe on a BRAT diet for a couple of days and add foods little at a time to see how he tolerates. Crazy hospitals just say regular diet ... like everythings the same as before surgery. Well it's not and it works better if you go kind of slow with the foods. I gave him a couple of links to the MD Anderson bowel training so he has some good info. Ask him about it and read through it if you get a chance. Somebody's got to keep him in line!
