Need answers from scan
I haven't posted much lately because I have been trying to take a break from thinking about cancer ALL the time. However, I find myself checking in and reading the posts constantly because I want to check how everyone is doing. This site offers so much info. and support for one another. I don't know how I would have made it this far without all of you, so thank you for all your kind words and great advice.
I have been done with Folfox since September 2010 and feeling great. I am enjoying taking care of my children and husband again and living a pretty "normal" life again. My last few scans have been NED and now I am due for my three month CT scan on Monday.
Well, last week I noticed 2 small lumps on my lower right abdomen and am pretty sure they are lymph nodes. I am so worried now that the cancer is back (or never left). Has anyone experienced this? I was wondering if they can just be surgically removed if it is cancer? I know I shouldn't worry until the scan results come back next Friday, but I can't help it. Please say a prayer and send positive vibes for my scan on Monday.
Have a nice weekend.
Hugs,
Sara

Dear Sara
I have no medical opinion to offer, but do certainly send prayers for good results on the scan.

I will
Hi Sara,
I will be thinking of you and praying for you for your upcoming scan on Monday. I don't have any experience with the abdominal lumps/lymph nodes, so I don't have any opinions or advice on what they might be. But my thoughts will definitely be with you. Hang in there I know it's hard to not feel worried about it, but I'm praying for God's peace for you with it while you have the scan and wait for results. I'm sure hoping the lumps (if they are lymph nodes) are just in reaction to something other than cancer that your body is fighting off.
Hugs to you,

No experience here either, it is hard to not worry, it is just a part of being human and having or have had a cancer diagnosis. Does your doctor really make you wait a week for results, mine tells me the same day.0 -

Did you have a resection? I developed a lump and it turned out that I herniated all over my abdomen from the prior surgeries. Just a thought!
Kathy
I had a liver resection, colon resection and a complete hysterectomy. This was all done at the same surgery. But these lumps (2) seem to be right where the lymph nodes are located. Thank you for your reply.

Thanks for the support and well wishes. I am trying so hard not to worry, but it is so difficult. I know we all can relate to the scan stress. Have a nice weekend.

It usually takes about 2 days for him to have results, so I may call him and change the appt. to Wed. if the results are in. It is sooo hard to wait.
Take care.

Hi Sara
HUGS to you. I know how tough it is especially when you're scared and then have to wait for things like scans and results.
I have 2 lymphmnodes near my liver that we are keeping an eye on and hoping the FOLFOX works on them. I haven't asked about removal or anything like that yet as we already decided to use FOLFOX and chemo is the first line for lymph nodes is what I was told. I am just hoping for the best that they shrink down by the end of my 12 rounds.
I will be praying and hoping for the very best for your scans. Take a deep breath and continue to enjoy your weekend and life. It's normal for us to worry about things like this. Try to keep busy with life and it will help you get through until your results.0 -

I don't have any experience to answer your question but just want to say I'll be thinking of you when you have your scan Monday. I understand your anxiety; I have my scans on Thursday. Here's hoping for the best for both of us.
Leslie
I am so happy that you have been NED for so long and pray to God that things stay that way. I too am surprised that you have to wait that long for the CT scan results. The only test I had to wait was for my petscan and that's because it was on a Saturday but I had my results on Monday. I will say a pray for you and all of us who are fighting this disease that you will find comfort till you get results on Monday and that the test will show NO CANCER.....
