Still NED at six month check! Yay!

I visited with my favorite doctor at Stanford yesterday, for my six-month check. No scans. All he did was palpate, prod, and poke all the way to the base of my tongue, repeatedly, gack! gack! gack! and scope the interior... EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Oh ya, and he squeezed and manipulated the exterior of my neck till he must have found every lympn node I have left.
No evidence of anything abnormal! Yay! I had the three month PET-CT which showed NED, and the report included the phrase: "Response to treatment - complete." Yehaw! This was stage 4 base-of-tongue with mets to lymph nodes on both sides of my neck, for the newbys here.
I will continue to be examined every six weeks for a while. Stanford is alternating with my local ENT, so I only have to do the (3 1/2 hour each way) drive to Stanford every three months or so. If nothing changes, Stanford is recommending a PET-CT at a year, another one 18 months after that, and a final one at the five year mark. Woot!
Thank you all for your unwavering support to me and to everyone on this board. I couldn't have done this without you. Happy Holidays!

Way to go......!!!! I have my 9 month PET scan in December and am hoping, really hoping, that I get the NED report. This H&N cancer is a tough thing to go through and I have learned from you and others here on the discussion board how best to handle all the challenges. I am so happy for you. Now as my Dr says, "get out there and live your life" !!
All the best,
