I feel Great But...
This is the best week after my 7th chemo and after having the blood transfusion feeling more alert actually the first time in a year and half due to anemia and my blood counts looking good even on this off week. But I am dealing with disappointments with my family issues: my 23 yrs old daughter just broke up with her boyfriend who everybody thought they would be married soon; and my (adult)former foster son lost his home and wants to move back to my house; and then there is my mother going downhill with ovarian cancer. I m real getting tired with bad news!!! I am just venting here because I need to get mentally ready for this Tuesday's chemo. Right now, my mind is on my daughter who said she just needs to focus on herself even though she loves her boyfriend - why would she throw this away? Reminds me of "Gone With the Wind" theme. It is real hard for me to just to watch this drama or ask myself if I could do a better job giving advice etc etc. I am just sad and gotta take one thing at a time and also LET GO of everything emotionally and rethinking positively healthwise!!
Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving - thanks for your support,
Liz

I understand
Hi Liz,
I am so happy to hear that your feeling better. I knew in my heart you would after getting the blood. I have had so many transfusions, and what a difference it makes. Blood is life.
I will keep thinking good positive thoughts for you on Tuesday, that you will continue to feel good and alert and stronger.
Its hard when your childs life falls apart. My middle daughter broke up with her boyfriend of 8 years this past Jan. Everyone thought they would be married, including my daughter. They lived together for 7 years. he felt like a son in law and was a part of our family. I guess he was not ready to go to the next step, and my daughter wants to be married. It was and is hard on all of us.
My youngest daughter moved back home with us about a year ago. Yesterday, she put a deposit down on an apartment. She will move in the middle of Dec.
Seems like we have similar stories with our children. My youngest is 28 and the middle is 31.
My advice, is to be there if they ask for help or want to talk, but to let them live and learn. It's very hard to do, and I don't always do a good job, but thats what moms do...
Peaceful healing

Sorry...
Hi Liz,
I read your post on Saturday and wanted to comment, but between the chemo and pred last week...well...lets just say "it wasn't pretty"!!! Had a rough weekend to say the least. Anyways...I'm sorry you are going through so much added stress. One things for sure.. having cancer doesn't stop the daily problems that arise. Somehow we just have to figure out the balance of what we can do and can't do. Right now the focus should be on yourself, but I know...as a mother thats hard to do. I will keep you in my prayers and hope for the best. Things have a way of working out, even when we don't do anything.

Your replies means so much to me. Yes, I agree totally about focusing on myself and thinking more positively. I just tend to process my emotions then move on, you know... I had a good talk with my daughter yesterday so I feel better. Always when the chemo day comes, I just turn off life issues and focus on myself pretty much for the week.
I keep you in my prayers too in healing.
