Hope everyone post treatment and currently undergoing treatment as well as caregivers are having a great day.
I will soon be posting more as Dad begins treatment sometime during the next couple of weeks. So thankful to have all of you and this site for support, friendship and inspiration.

Thanksgiving
Two years ago on this Holiday I advised the family of my problem- that turned-out to be NPC. What followed was not untypical for us, except for the specifics of my chemo delivery; which, with the complimentary contribution from the rads, turned my mouth into a trainwreck at the end of week #1. For some 7 weeks I was PEG-exclusive for Nutrition, got to know a critter called morph, and live for days with ice bringing so much relief. I'm almost 20-months, now, post-treatment, and there wasn't a single item on the dinner table that I avoided due to my C&R. And, I must inform you, one and all, that Bar-B-Que sauce tastes great on turkey!!! I can only hope and Pray that as many of you as possible can enjoy the meal I did on this day, now, or down the road.

As always I am thankful for this forum..I was just having a pity party because I spent so much time cooking what I heard was the best T-giving meal I have made, and I couldn't really taste it! I have to remember a few months ago, I couldn't taste or swallow. Some days the taste buds seem to work better, I wonder why...But I watched everyone else eating with such enjoyment, I should have felt good about the meal, but I didn't I felt cranky.

Why couldn't yesterday have been the lousy taste buds day? Sorry you couldn't enjoy the fruits of your labor. I tasted mostly just fine. I did, however have an "oops" with my sauerkraut balls. Me: "Oh - they're dry - I'm sorry you all" Others: "ummm - no they're not - it's just you" Me: "Well Never Mind". Glad most of them were able to laugh at me.0 -

Bob,
Hey, you've heard of "turkey in the straw", right?? So how was it? Cancer sucks but as long as you can still at least drink, that's a good thing. Hope things get better for you!

I just finished reading the "Steak Blogs". I am looking forward to that!
