New problem
Could this be the worst and be c back? or could it still be the radiation burning him after 5 weeks post treatment? We see the ENT this morning at 9:45 and I would like to ask everyone here to say a prayer for him this morning.
I will update later today. Praying for a good report.

or Thrush ?
Thrush is very common post rads. His body has taken a beating and is still recovering. Because his immune system is very weak, he is prone to infections.
There are many reactions to treatment the Doctors have no explanation for. As the mouth tissue is all part of our Mucosa, the L-Glutamine powder in higher dosage may help with the healing and also relieve some of topical pain he may be experiencing.
I hope it is simple case of thrush.

also
Could also be some delayed side effects from the radiation. A local friend had a huge side effect attack 7-8 post treatment. After 4-5 weeks he was better. After two years now he has pretty much the same side effects most of us have. Dry mouth, need moisture to eat, stiff neck, and very little taste.0 -
Dave got a good report yesterday. The Doc said all looked good in the scope of his throat. He believes it is the thrush still hanging on. Gave him a scrip for lozenges for thrush. We hope this will work better for him. Continued prayers for all.Hondo said:Hi Terry
I agree with everyone else, radiation will continue to cook you for months after treatment stops. Will keep you both in our prayers

Wouldn't normally be pleased to hear someone has thrush, but I am in this case. Hope the lozenges make a big difference quickly.0 -
