Finished my 4 rounds of A/C 4 weeks ago and just started my first week of my Taxol on Thurs. Started with leg, back and now all over pain! Please tell me I won't be like this for 12 weeks and I have to order my Thanksgiving dinner from the local supermarket!!!!

    Turkey takeout
Don't do thanksgiving. Daughter works, their family goes to the great-grandparents for dinner. Found a neighborhood restaurant that served dinner from 11-2 Thanksgiving day. All you can eat for $9.95; no reservations needed. This might be the answer for you this year. Perhaps other family members could each bring something over?

    You certainly may not
I found I had a harder time on taxol than A/C, but it's not the case for everyone. Be good to yourself and rest whenever you need to. Also, don't forget the drink water til you float thing. Hopefully this'll get easier for you as weeks go on.

We need to do the best for 'ourselves' ... whether we are in
the mist of chemo therapy, fatigued from Radation .. what's best for us.! Life does go on, and we should not miss the opportunity to celebrate with family and friends...

I found that I had bone and muscle pain on and off the 12 weeks and a few weeks after. Sometimes it was worse than others and when it got bad I was able to ease it with ibuprofen. But that is not to say that it will be the same for you, if could be better for you. And I do suggest you talk to your Onc. and see if there is something to take for it.

As for thanksgiving, remember you are on chemo and need to take it easy. If you live near a wholefoods they cater great thanksgiving meals. If you can afford it treat yourself.

If you have to have turkey
If you have to have turkey take out, so be it. That isn't what is important. What is important is taking good care of yourself. Just being with your loved ones is all that matters.

    Happy Thanksgiving!
