Its not over until the fat lady sings!
But her bloods have come back low .
She will be having a blood transfusion on Tuesday so hopefully will be able to finish her treatment next week.
On the plus side her ca125 is now at 9
Gutted I thought today was the final hurdle for her for (finger crossed) a long time.
Also found out that she will get a ct scan just after her last chemo , which I didn't expect, the surgeon said he had removed it all.... Why do they do it? Starting to worry again , what if it shows something bad.god this bloody cancer lark doesn't stop you wondering and worrying.

I think it's standard
I think it's standard procedure to do a CT scan after the end of first line chemo. My doctor does the same thing. And your mom will get a nice report back that has that lovely notation at the bottom....NED.

9 is good. My CA125 was 16
9 is good. My CA125 was 16 and showed NED. I am confident that your mum will be fine.
On the flip side, I keep thinking about myself...if it comes back, hell, I beat it once, I can beat it again. In the meantime, I raise my glass of pinot noir and toast to all the teal warriors who have battled, continue to battle and will battle in the future!

Hi Carlene,
Mom finished her 6th round of treatment November 15th and her CT scan is scheduled for November 22nd. My question is why are they still doing a CT scan when she is still doing chemo.
Mom's surgery was unsuccessful so her next round of chemo is December 6th. I am very worried about the CT scan. Her CA 125 numbers are still dropping but nowhere near normal. I am really scared of the CT scan and the results. I am hoping but not optomistic they may decide to try another surgery.

I had a 2 cm tumor remaining after surgery which was gone after my post chemo CT scan. The CT scan post treatment is a routine protocol, I also had a CT scan done in the beginning of my treatment in addition to the diagnostic CT and PET scans before surgery.
Sending happy thoughts and well wishes!
