dad is near the end
He is near the end, the rattle, delirum, and showing other signs.
Please pray for a gentle transition to his next world.
I love him so much!

Prayers coming your way
Deb,
I am so happy that your Dad made his party last night. I know you, your family, and your Dad’s friends will look back on that evening with fondness. Your Dad must be a wonderful man to have so many friends wishing to honor him.
I will be praying for you and your Dad.
Best Regards,

My Prayers are with You
What a gift to your dad and everyone that was there to honor him! You will always have those memories!
My heartfelt prayers for comfort and peace as your dad gets ready to meet the Lord. Though it must be extremely difficult for all of you, may the comfort in knowing you will see him again be of some solace.
Blessings,

My prayers are with you and
My prayers are with you and your family. You know, he will not be going alone...the angels will come guide him and you will know when that happens. A friend told me this, and it is true.
The road ahead is different than the roller coaster ride you have been on with this disease. It is not the high highs and low lows to which we have become accustomed. But it isn't an easy road either. I'm finding that each day brings points of joy and sorrow mixed together, so I pray for God's presence to be with you all.

Hello Deb, I'm so glad your dad was able to attend his party. I know this was an emotional time for the family, but what a wonderful memory to have.
I am lifting your dad and family up in prayer, For God to put his arms around you all and give you comfort and peace as your dad goes home to the Lord.

Hi Deb,
So glad your Dad got to his party and saw all the love and caring and appreciation for what he has accomplished in his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you go thru the next step to going to our real home. Your love and caring has surely carried your Dad thru.

An update.
Dad has "perked up" some, but not in a good way. He sleeps a lot but when he is awake he is confused, mumbles, and agitated easily. He is so weak, yet he tries to get up and ends up falling. We just can't reason with him, we know that.
I'm going back to my parents to stay for a few more days. I'm going to help my mom get dad to the doctor and hopefully admitted to the hospital. His wishes were to die in the hospital, not at home, since my little sister did that last summer and he hated seeing her leave in a bag and the feeling it left in the house.
My mom doesn't want hospice because in their small city their is only one commpany that she doesn't like. Sadly, when you have been through 4 family members passing in the last year and a half, she knows the difference between good and bad hospice care. We have the books and know quite a bit about the grieving process.
We have also had some beautiful times the last few days. The priest came to the house in the night and blessed my dad, we prayed, and talked about heaven. Dad is at peace with going. I have expressed all the love and admiration I have for him. I love that part. Now it is in God's hands to bring him home.
Blessings,

I find it quite amazing that people find the time to update on this board in the midst of their ordeals. None-the-less, I appreciate it since I can direct my prayers in a more specific way (not that God doesn't already know), but it makes it easier.
I'll continue to pray for your dad and your family Deb.
Blessings,

Hello Deb,
Thank you for your recent update. I have recently been where you are. You have all done the best you could for your dad. You have crossed all your "T's" and dotted all of your "I's". Now it is in God's hands. I was so touched by Sally's reply. I do believe that the angels bring our loved ones home. I swear, my dad was saying "Mom" right before he died. His mom passed in 2003, and she came to get him. You have given your dad all of your blessings. This has given him the peace he needs to move on. May God grant you all the peace you will all need at this most difficult time. Stay in touch.

Deb,
I haven't been on CSN as much lately---very busy with big family and my dad is doing pretty well right now.. I am so saddened to read your post... it is so painful to a loved one fade--it seems that we can never be truly "ready" to let go--- I hate that you all have to go thru this---but reading your post---the LOVE flows out and covers the reader with a a nice, albeit sad feeling.. It is a blessing that you have this time withe him and him with you....
Bless you all
