Great news Kathleen! I also question giod news afraid to get my hopes up. So Tues when found my ca125 had dropped from 111 to 40 I was excited and my doc somewhat dourly says "well if it' s true." If it's not me doubting it's him.
So hard for us to believe - but, crikey, that's what we're fighting for!

    Thank you,
everyone for all the support, I am FEELING the HALLELUJAH! today. It helps that I woke up with no gut pain. Gone! I'm not going to analyze, just say, "Thank you!"

Today, I have been cooking up a storm, and having 8 people over for dinner. Cooking is my therapy and passion!

    Hi Tina
thanks for your post. I am a 3 1/2 year survivor and have been through my share of awful stuff. I won't bore you with details, but the one thing that does stand out is my cisplatin/gemzar regime 2 years ago landed me in the hospital every 21 days for nausea and uncontrolable throwing up for 5 days straight every cycle. I wanted to roll over and die. I lost 30 pounds. Too bad it didn't stay off.....

Right now, I have moderate nueropathy and wonder if I can finish the 3 cycles that my doctor would like me to do. i have always said that I would rather be in a wheel chair alive than dying of cancer, and that may be where I end up, at least temporarily. I plan on fighting hard.

I understand what you mean about knowing what is going on. I have had some weird pain in my gut, and until yesterday, and thought it might be a tumor pushing on a nerve or something. It is completely gone today, and I can only suspect it is an adhesion that is coming and going. That is what my doctor suspects. If it persists, I guess a CT/PET or some scan is in order.

How is your nausea, Tina? Hang in there!

    Great News!
Hi, Kathleen. I've never directly posted to you before but I have read many of your posts. I am excited for your great news on the CA-125 test. About the neuropathy, I bought this supplement called Glutasolve at the hospital pharmacy. It's basically Glucosamine with some other inert stuff made by the Nestle Corporation. It is a soluble powder that you mix with water, juice or applesauce. It was recommended by several of my caregivers from Wig Stylist, to nurses, to Gyn/Onc. I completed my 6 main cycles of chemo with Taxotere/Carbo about 4 months ago and went straight onto a Taxol maintenance regimen, on 3 weeks and off one week, just to start over again. I have had NO neuropathy symptoms. I drink the Glutasolve around chemo days. It's not the tastiest but we've had much worse. My friends who were on the similar chemo to me and not taken Glutasolve have developed neuropathy. Maybe you should check with your Dr. about Glucosamine for you. It sure seems to help me. My best to you on your continued great CA-125 numbers.

    Love to my Teal Sister,
    Betty

    Hi Kathleen
My nausea is virtually gone thank-you. You talked about a pain in your stomach. Its strange because once you are diagnosed with cancer you automatically think that every ache and pain is THE CANCER and its not. We can have other things wrong with us and we tend to forget that. I had 4 - 5 weeks with incredible bloating and discomfort and had convinced myself I had ascites. However, funnily enough, as soon as my new treatment started ALL the bloating went away and all I can assume is it was my mind / stress causing the symptoms.

I think thins will all work out well for you

    Wrong chemical name given, sorry
The powder is called GlutaSolve by Nestle Foods, but is is made from L-Glutamine, not glucosamine. Sorry for the mistake.

Hi Kathleen (btw, that's my daughter's middle name :-)

I started single agent Gemzar in April after 2mos on Doxil. Ca125 was 658 up from 200s where it had been for about 5 mos. It dropped to 15 by end of July with clean CT. I opted to take break for avacation, one month later it was 65 but PET was clean. Restarted Gemzar, ca125 up to 111, then after 2nd month 40. I get a reduced dose and only make 2 of 3 /month treatments due to lo counts, but it still works. My orig diagnosis was 12/07. I had confirmed by biopsy recurrence last Oct, '09.

Glad you are celebrating - Bon Appetit!

I am a stress baker myself.
I am a stress baker myself. My kids used to call each other up and say, "Mom must be stressed....she's baking again." I loved that Izzy (Grey's Anatomy) was a stress baker, too. Kind of gave credibility to my weirdness.

    Hi Betty,
I did use the L-Glutamine for the first 2 chemo regimes. Maybe that is why it stayed away so long? Somewhere along the line, I had stopped using it, thinking it wasn't really working, but it wouldn't hurt to start drinking it again, I guess. Thanks for the reminder.

I found GlutaSolve Powder on Amazon.com.
I was getting lazy about taking it also. We already have to take so much stuff. After I wrote to you the other day, I noticed my left foot was getting tingly. The next day it was much worse. I started getting real worried. So, I drank my last package of GlutaSolve and also took some L-Glutamine powder, since I ran out of the GlutasSolve powder. After several doses my foot is feeling much better. I guess I spoke too soon about not having neuropathy. But, I hope by my starting the two GlutaSolve drinks per day, as per the package directions, I can forego any further complications. It appears that there are 15 mg of L-Glutamine in each envelope of that powder. I guess that's why it's so costly. Does Amazon ship to Japan? They have the GlutaSolve powder on instant ship and save program.
