anyone get osterporosis from chemo

i now have osterporis where the chemo leached all the calcioum from my bones, anyone else having this problem

please if you have had chemo make them do a bone scan on you

    My doctors don't worry about that. Maybe it is because I am younger? Either way, what is the alternative? I'll take osteoporosis over cancer any day! I suppose for women who are already post menopasual the risk is greater. How many are on preventive measures?

    I agree Nancy, would rather have osteoporosis than cancer. My sister-in-law had breast cancer and was prescribed Fosamax to prevent the osteoporosis. She ended up with horrible kidney disease, in complete failure at one point. This negatively impacted her health far more than the cancer did. She's in remission from the kidney disease now but it really took a toll and certainly not worth taking that risk, would rather deal with the osteoporosis.
