in my high school that are doing a mini-course week on Cancer. They are focused on knitting and making hats for cancer patients. I don't work with these kids generally, but I do work and have with their teachers for years. So I had a chance to talk. And was surprised at how choked up I got at various places in my talk. All I could think of was, "wow has this been a journey or what??" The kids were great. The teachers pretty tearful- several commenting how hard it was on them when I was so sick. Yet how it all helped form a stronger bond with all of us. It was good. Not going to jump up to speak again any time soon.

What a great experience. It's always nice when some good comes from our experience. Thanks for spreading the word.

    WOW - Patteee
I am so proud of you; that must have been so hard to do. I know, for me anyway, it is always hardest to speak up about things closest to my heart in front of people I know. I give you big kudos for doing this. I think it can mean so much for a student when it someone they know + that person is right there in front of them. I bet you taught them a lot. Thanks for doing it; you have moved our cause forward another step.

    awesome!
Way to spread the word! I am sure your words will stick with those students for a long time to come! Definitely a more personal message since they know you and have watched you as you battled! Thank you for helping to spread that news!

    Fantastic !!
I didn't realize just how hard that it is to get up in front of people and tell your story. I did it in church 1 time and it drained me. KUDOS to you. Great of you to share that. Take care
