well, I don't have a surgery date as of yet. They found another tumor (been there the whole time, just that it's been missed apparently) in lymph node I think they said, and it's next to the kidney.
So, now that I have my colon surgeon and liver surgeon, a urologist surgeon is now being added to the mix.
I also now have to go see a gynecologist, because they still don't know why the CT scan radiologists (two of them) said cancer was in LEFT side, when it's in RIGHT side, so I have to get my inards there checked to make sure all is a okay on that end.
Then I need to get a PET Scan and meet with the anesthesiologist.
BUT THE GOOD NEWS is here I am, was told would never have surgeries and am having the surgeries. The game plan is they will do this all at once, since the tumors in liver are on left lobe only, and the colon tumor turned out to be on right side (all places to have the cancers, they said these were the "best" places to have it)and then the urologist will get the one by the kidney (it's close to something called the uter? Some tube to do with kidney I'm unsure of the spelling) and then they said while I was open they would radiate by the one next to the kidney.
I absolutely kid no one, when I say not one, not two, not three but FOUR different experts (two oncologists, colon and liver surgeon) do NOT see this as a life extension for me, but as a cure, but they used the words that everyone says doesn't exist with this: CURED, yes, I kept asking my husband after each visit, they said "cured" didn't they? And he answered each time, yes. (I know there are plenty out there, that don't believe in the word "cured" but just NED, but they said the word "cured", and I'm taking that word and running with it).
I'll be off for a while, but please do know I'm thinking about each and everyone.
There is HOPE for Stage IV, yes indeedy.

    Yes indeed!
I am so happy to hear that you WILL be going to surgery and are expected to be cured. I believe you will be. Many people are cured so why can't you join that group. I know of a 19 year survivor (cured) that is going strong and many others. Let us know the surgery date when you get it.

    Hugs,

    If you still have your
If you still have your reroductive organs, have them get these out too! I had a complete hysterectomy when I had my resection. In the words of my doc, "we have you open, let's get rid of any organs that could develop cancer later on"!

    WOW
    Hi Marie,

This is very exciting! To think you were told you couldn't ever have surgery (another example of why to not ever listen to a first opinion), and now you're about to have it with four specialists all cooperating with each other. That's wonderful and amazing!
I vote for the "Big C" being called the Big Cure, too. :)
    Exciting times ahead...

    Hugs to you,
    Lisa

    ureters
These are the tubes that carry urine from kidneys to bladder. In females they are short tubes about 1 1/2 inch. I imagine this is why they want to radiate the node very little pain; effective; and minor risk to kidney and ureters. It a good thing that they will all be there to do their thing with one perhaps two incisions. You heal faster and less time on the table. I trust surgeons a lot more than radiologists. They interpret what they see and from my experience many of them must be blind. Anyway your surgeons will take time to take a tour of everywhere looking and feeling for cancer. When done "cured" is there a better word? Best of luck Lou
