urinary incontinence

Has anyone experienced bladder incontinence during the night? I had one occurance before my surgery which was a little over a month age (they did the cyro freezing of the tumor) and since then I have been urinary incontinent twice.

    I havn't experienced this symptom, but I do have an "urgency" problem at times since my surgery (5wks ago). I attribute this to the larger volume of water that I've been drinking, but am seeing my urologist today for a follow-up appt and will ask him if/why urinary problems are related to the RCC or to the treatment.
    You don't give your age or history, but is it possible that your incontinence is unrelated to the cryo-op, eg how strong are your pelvic muscles, do you also have stress incontinence (while sneezing, lifting, coughing etc), are you drinking more fluids than normally? In any case, you need to get a Drs advice about this- and sooner rather than later coz it will only worry you! There are pelvic floor tests (as well as the cancer/ operation ones) that your Doc can use to determine what's going on, and this will put your mind at rest, I hope. The fact that you had an "episode" prior to your op may well point to an easily treatable condition. How are you feeling otherwise? It's so good to get that rotten tumour out of the way, isn't it?!

    I am 44 and have never had problems with incontinence before. I guess that is why I am concerned. When I went in for my post op 4 week appt 3 days ago I told the urologist and he did not seem concerned and there was also a trace amount of blood in my urine and the last 2 urine test post op were negative so my head is spinning with the what ifs.The dr said the trace of blood is normal even 4 weeks out so that made me feel better. He just told me to let him know if the incontinence continues. Other than that I am doing much better! Thank you very much. Take care of yourself and ya I'm sure your urgency is due to extra fluids you are taking in. I hope all goes well with you and you continue to do well.

    Just checking in to see how you are- do you still have the urinary problem? Hopefully you're feeling a lot better now? I found that it was 6 weeks before I really started to see light at the end of the tunnel- I'm 7 weeks post-op now, and am almost human again!
