EC now spread to bones

edited March 2014 in Esophageal Cancer #1
My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 EC in July, 2010. Radiation was very successful and after only being able to live on Ensure he can now eat anything. He had no surgery, just radiation and ciplatin and 5FU. This week he had his second PET/CT with the news that the esophagus has improved, no major organs have been affected, but the cancer has now spread to his pelvis, several vertebrae, several ribs, humerous and shoulder. His chemo was changed to oxaliplatin, 5FU and leucovorin. He receives this on Tues and wears a fanny pack to continue the dosage until Thur every other week. He is only 60 years old. Is there any hope for us??? Can anyone shed some light on our dilemma.

my husband is dealing with ec and it isn't for the faint of heart.

I also don't know much about
I also don't know much about EC to the bones except that radiation can help with the pain. I think Sherri's husband also had it for his EC to his rib. She is a dream and wealth of knowledge. I hope you two can connect.
