neuropathy from Taxol
If you get neuropathy, it may not be too bad. It took about 4-5 treatments before it started for me. It started in my right toes. Each week it would come and would spread a little more and then go away the day of chemo (my chemo is weekly). So be encouraged, it may just come and go and not get too bad. My onc decreased the dose a little to prevent it from getting worse and will stop if I am threatened by long term permanent neuropathy. I found the fatigue from Taxol worse than anything. It always comes on day 4 or 5 for me and keeps me draggy till next chemo day. I have been working through all chemo treatment but I am slowed me down just because of the fatigue. I finally told my boss, since surgery is next for me, I am taking off more than I am working to get healthy for surgery. I'm lucky to have intermittent short term disability at my workplace and also the flexibility to use it. I only plan on working a few hours each week. BTW, I LOVE the benedryl sleep too! The steroids keep me active the next few days and I usually feel great those days too.
Glad you are off to a good start and will pray and send hugs.

Carrie, I came searching the boards to see how you did yesterday.. wtg sister! I seem to remember bits and pieces of a tip regarding neuropathy -- soak your fingers in ice water/ice during your treatment? Maybe the other sisters will weigh in -- i'll also go try and find the details for you before your next tx...
sending you smiles across the miles and hopes that you continue on easy street throughout the taxol!
blessings and hugs,

My neuropathy came after
My neuropathy came after treatment #3, and so far it's only affecting the tips of my fingers and my toes. And it's not bad. Both the onc and I agree that unless it starts affecting motor function, we'll continue on with the treatments...2 more. Oh yeah, my "T" is taxotere.
Sorry about the cold, I hope you continue to feel really good!
Hugs,
