Just wonderig how often you guys get a pet scan. I had one when diagnosed in feb 09, but none since.

    I have never had a PET scan, just CTs + MRIs.

    I get PET/CT every 4 months... BUT...will be 6 months this time due to Cyberknife so we are using CEA as a guideline til then.

    I have had 4 PETs
    I have had 4 PETs and 4 or 5 CTs from Aug of 08. My butt now glows in the dark.
    Very soon there will be a hazmat team following me around.

    My husband is a stage 3
    My husband is a stage 3 rectal cancer survivor. Diagnosed Jan. 06 and clear since then.
    First year every 3months pet/ct scan after that every 6months, next scan is in Dec. If that is clear I think the plan will be a ct scan once a year. As far as I'm concerned with this disease there is no such thing as to many scans.

    I've had 4 CT scans since December, 2008. This year was 6 months apart, but now it will be once a year. Never had a PET.

    1 when Dx 1 when reoccurrence and 1 before radio but this last
    one just because the radio oncologist prefers to work with pet instead of cat!
    so total 3 since June 09.
