I started Arimidex on 9/27. It is for post-menopausal ER+ & PR+. Absolutely no side effects so far (I'm 63), but I have none of the other issues you have. My onc said it was as good as chemo.
Good luck, Cindy
I started it on October 17 and so far so good. I tolerated Tamoxifen well, though, too. I do have some bone pain, but for the most part I feel pretty good on it. My doc said if I couldn't handle the side effects that they could try other drugs or put me back on Tamoxifen.
I wish you well!

I was on femera
for 7 months and couldn't stand the side effects. My onc changed my prescription to anastrozole yesterday (generic arimidex) so I'm hoping it's better for me.
Ask your doctor to do a bone scan and take lots of Vitamin D and calcium.

I have had no negative side effects from Arimidex other than the cost. There is a generic now which I use instead. Arimidex cost for me was $340 a month, the generic is $167. I have a high deductable plan so the cost is on me.

Thanks for
all your imput. When my onc and I talk about it again in 3 weeks I think I will go with his choice. I'm hoping that I will be able to tolerate without side effects. I've gotten through chemo and Neulasta shots without any severe side effects so I'm going to hope for the best. I'm sure I'll be able to get the generic and my copays are low.

I hate pharmaceuticals, but I'm listening to my experts. I've been on Arimidex since July 21 and am doing well. After 6 rounds of chemo and 33 of rads, I figured I can do this--and you can to.
Good luck!
