You will!!
Dear Char, you will feel better after you're done with the chemo business. It is incredible all the things that happen as a result of chemo. I had my last taxol round a year ago, to the day. While I did have a huge surgery after chemo, I have felt that I am just now starting to find my new normal, and I am happy with where I am at. Try to keep your "chin up" and know you are in my thoughts and prayers...hugs..alison0 -
Lasix
Char,
I too had swelling in my legs, ankles, feet, hands etc. I was on Lasix til a few weeks ago. I know where you are had. Just hang in there. It helped me to lay down as much as I could to keep the swelling down. This will pass. Chemo is one tought cookie but we are tougher.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. But just think, after tomorrow you will be one step closer to finishing your chemo! Woo Hoo! Hope things improve for you. Hugs, Jean
Hoping that the Lasix will do its job for you Char! Soon you will be graduating from chemo and can focus on life after cancer!

Lasix (furosemide), aka
Lasix (furosemide), aka viatmin L, is a great drug for edema. Make sure you eat your bananas and/or drink OJ while you are on it. If you feel weak or dizzy, let your pcp know as you made need a dosage reduction.
Here's a link (because I really can't help myself--lol):

Are you a nurse?
Cynthia,
Are you a nurse? You have very good detailed answers and I was just wondering. I am always informed from your posts.
Thanks,
Wanda
I too am on Lasix and it works too well sometimes LOL. I know where every bathroom is . On a very low dose though. I was on hydrochlorathaizide for years and loved that one but it made my potassium spike way too high.
Excuse my spelling, I know it's not correct0 -

LOL, guessing the viatmin l crack gave me away??
I am a neonatal nurse practitioner and my patients are all under 12 lbs, so thank you for saying you are informed from my posts as adults are not my usual patients. But I am also a nerd ;-) and from a very medical family: father a doc, sister a doc, mother a nurse, daughter almost a PA--hopefully :-)0 -

he gave me a very low dose. It's in liquid form 10mg. All I know is that I was in the bathroom every 15 min. LOL

My oncologist just prescribed Lasix this afternoon. My ankles and feet started swelling a week ago. I just knew I was in heart failure (why not, everything else is falling apart?), but oncologist assured me this happens to chemo patients. And now that I see some of you are also on Lasix, I believe her!
