Love the bay areaadventurebob said:Go Giants!
Hey Nicole,
Sorry about that game last night. You know how sensitive we are in the Bay area though. It just felt mean beating up the guys from Texas like that so we showed em a little love last night.
Exercise has always been the best for any side effects for me. I have the hills of Marin to hike in and can be on one 5 minutes out my door so I hit it daily. I try to walk at least a couple hours each day and throw in a full day hike at least once a week. Sometimes I'm pretty slow, just depending on the medicine. I did Bikram Yoga for awhile but now that I got this crazy tube in I don't feel comfortable in the class as none of the guys wear shirts and it's so hot the tube would just show through the sweat even if I did. I still practice yoga at home a couple times a week though. The medical marijuana has also been a blessing during chemo. I haven't found anything that knocks out the nausea faster or stimulates the appetite better. I gained 15 pounds after I started chemo from the increased appetite. I really needed it as the cancer had pulled off about 25. It's still a bit controversial but not in the Bay area of course. For me it feels safer and much more effective than any other meds.
Glad to hear you're getting out and living. Cancer shouldn't take that away from us nor should treatment. Enjoy the game tonight. I've got some chemo bet on the game so root loud for the Giants. Go Giants!!
Hi Bob,
All I can say is that I am so glad to live in the bay area. Medical marijuana works wonders, it's sad that so many people can't have it. Some of the anti nausea meds really knock you for a loop. They do work but at a cost..
I'll bet some roxanol on the Giants taking it tonight !! Gladly give up the nasty tasting med for the Giants.
BTW I did sign a lease for my MIL. got the phone and cable set up and the hospice will start the day after she arrives in CA. Whew.. My stress is a little better now that the apt hunt is done and I now have the keys..
Still a bit stressed about my upcoming tx, but I know that I did it once before so I can do it again. Just wish that I didn't have to..
Peaceful healing

Hey all
Glad to hear you all are having fun. I'll bet a box of scandiashakes for the Giants to win in 5 or maybe 6 games.
I have been thinking about the medical MJ but can't pull the trigger on it. My friend says that Marinol is a good drup for helping appetite. Anyone try it yet???
I find it hard to smoke weed after having throat cancer, but it you all are in, maybe so!?!!?
Giants game is coming on in about 30 minutes. Time to take my butt to the sofa for a few hours of watching b-ball..
All the best to each of you.....remember Marinol, anyone?

Ok, time to go big as this might be the last game of the World Series. I'm adding a Special Northern California Anti-Nausea Brownie and a Green Magic Medicinal chocolate chip cookie to your Roxanol and we're taking all bets from Rangers fans. Though if the Rangers win we might need our bets for comfort.
Glad to hear everything is all set up for your MIL. That must be a relief.
Enjoy the game tonight. No need to think about treatment tonight. Just enjoy the beauty of the game. Go Giants!!

And the pot grows bigger and still no bets from the Rangers fans. I think they're scared.
Yea, the smoking is probably not so good. I'm not able to use the medicine that way either because of the whole nasopharynx thing. The vaporizer works best without the harmful smoke. Or the edible foods of course. Kinda hard to get the dosage right with the foods. Sometimes too much, sometimes not enough. If too much isn't a concern though it really is the healthiest way. I find too much to be a little too funky and prefer the one hit at a time method. Not sure about the Marinol. I'm a little skeptical of a pharmaceutical company perfecting a natural medicine.
Take care Steve,
