Asking for prayers

Dear CSN Friends,

Tonight we received sad news about my husband's latest CT scan results. After six chemo sessions of cisplatin/etopiside and WBR, the masses in his lungs and lesions in his liver had reduced almost by 75%. It has only been 2 1/2 months and the cancer has begun to progress again. He will be starting a new type of chemo next week. He tolerated the first chemo very well, WBR did knock him down pretty bad, but just in the last 2-3 days had begun to feel so much better. He even built a small deck today!
After the news I asked him what he was feeling, and he said, as if a door just shut in my face. I was just getting to feel better and looking forward to some time for us, he said. I could see how dejected he was feeling. I told him that what I felt was that the good Lord had helped him get strong quickly and soon so that he could be ready for the battle. Imagine if this had happened 3 weeks ago! They may not have even been able to give him the chemo with how weak he was. So he is blessed.
I ask for your prayers that God bless him with strength, courage, love and mercy and healing. For me, I ask for strength, courage and energy that I may stand beside him and wage battle with him.
May you all be blessed and all your prayers answered.

Lucy
P.S.
My husband's name is Dennis.

The whole cancer thing is very often a roller-coaster ride with many ups and downs, and twists and turns. I hope that you are responsive to your new treatment, there's no reason why you can't be. I've been in treatment for getting close to 7 years and have had the feeling of many a door being shut in my face so I can relate.

Keep positive thoughts going Dennis, it's not always easy but you have the power over things and how you respond to treatments. Attitude is everything.

You're in my thoughts, sending positive energy to you both.

    Thank You Phil
I want to thank you phil for your kind words. I thank God and my wife for putting me on the road of renewed energy. Just in time for the next battle to begin. I have a positive attitude. I wake up every morning next to the biggest reason I have a positive attitude. As long as they have medicine and plans to use it I will fight and keep fighting. I have never been a quitter in my life and I can sense you haven't either. So I thank you for the encouraging words, God bless you for taking the time to give a fellow survivor a dose of reality. My loving wife gives me tons of encouragement and that is so great, the support gives me personally, strength beyond a boost or an energy drink, because it includes love, prayer, kindness and more love. I know God is on my side and with my prayers and His graces I am going to beat this one day. Patience is a gift I have not yet mastered, but i am working on it. You are also in our thoughts and prayers.

I will be praying for strength for both of you as you move forward with his next line of treatment. You were both so strong throughout his previous treatment that I know together you can battle this again...and WIN!!

You have each other and a very strong love for each other, this along with many prayers from your friends on CSN will help see you through this.

    Stay strong,
    Glenna

I know that what ever God's will is I am blessed to have the care, prayers and support of the beautiful folks here. I am also blessed with a wonderful family and friends that are always at the ready to support in any that is needed.
Before all of this I was a "religious" person. In the last few months I have come to my "spirituality". The oneness of being, loving and allowing God to guide my path through my journey. I know that I must do my part, but I know that He will always be there to help.

Glenna, may you be blessed in your journey. I will always look forward to posts from you, and I pray that if you are in need that I may in some way be there for you.

    Lucy and Dennis,
Lifting Dennis to the One who healed yesterday, today and forever! The very SAME Jesus. Keep your eyes on Him. HE will be the lifter of your head!
