Latest scan shows no new growth. No shrinkage, but no growth. I am greatful for this. Steve is doing well and handling chemo well. I have a lot to be thankful for!

Hi, Yes you do have a lot to
Hi, Yes you do have a lot to be thankful for. Every day in the life of a survivor, when there's nothing new and chemo is going good, it is a day to celebrate life. That's when we realize how good life can be.
    Prayers are with you,
    Sandra

    thank you for your response
Thanks everyone! Steve is a trooper. He is eating good and we still use the j-tube for xtra.

For anyone with this kind of cancer and you can get your doc to do it. Get the tube!! It's just a xtra tool to have in the battle. Its piece of mind and survivors and caregivers need all the help they can get. I also use it as a signal that his white count is low. When the tube site is irritated, the white count is low. Three weeks ago when we went for chemo, I told the nurse his count was to low for chemo, before they even took labs. Sure enough it was. We got neupogin this time and has helped alot.

Yes, he still gets all three drugs at chemo. I am unclear exactly why the docs feel he is not a surgical candidate, but plan to have that explained to me monday. He is stage 3. I have a lot of questions about this and the fact that they are determining this solely on the PET. I have read about false positives and people getting knocked out of surgery because of the PET.

We went from diagnoses, to chemo in the hospital and responding very well and getting ready for surgery. Then PET said cancer grew fast and we were no longer a surgical cadidate. The next scan (before treatment)stayed the same. Now after three rounds of chemo as outpatient. Scan is still the same. Just dont add up for me. Can cancer grow like crazy and then stop all by itself, without treatment?............Then still stay the same after treatment.

Anyway, sorry for rambling. Thanks again
