I am sorry you are having such a hard time. There rally is no reason why you should have to wait a month for a CT scan. I would call the scheduling department and have your appointment moved to next week.
Kimber45, Being an optomist the reason you are waiting for the CT Scan may be related to your diagnosis which does not present an emergency. Many people have masses or cysts on their kidney and it is only when they grow larger that there is a concern. Kidney Cancer grows very slowly. It would be helpful if you knew the size of these masses. Generaaly if they are very small the doctor just wants to watch them or see the amount of growth over a month or two.

Kimber,
First, I am sorry that you are having to go through this ordeal.
I know it is hard, but try to calm down. Believe me, I have been where you are, and I have learned that stress may have helped put me where I am today. When we allow stress to monopolize our body, it weakens our immune system.
I know this sounds weird, but I think having cancer (Stage 4 Renal Cell) has taught me to let go of a lot -- I don't stress over that which I have no control. For whatever reason, it is in God's plan, and I have turned this over to him. That being said, don't think that for one minute I am not accepting my responsibility in my treatment. I have made several changes in my life since my original diagnosis 5+ years ago and since learning of the re-occurrence -- i.e. eating a healthier diet, not stressing so much, etc.
Good luck with your CT Scan and with your treatment.

Kimber45,
A 1.6cm cyst or tumor is on the small side and even if it turns out to be Kidney Cancer and you need surgery the survival rate assuming it is a tumor (the worst diagnosis) is close to 100%. If it is a cyst they maybe will just observe and wait. Mine was a tumor of 2.6 cm and my surgery was on 8.01.2002 and I have had no treatment since the surgery and the only thing they do are CT scans to make sure that nothing shows up on my remaining Kidney. As my doctor says do not worry about the Kidney Cancer as I will die of something else. I know this is not fun as I was freaked out when told I had Kidney Cancer. Just remenber that for small tumors Kidney Cancer is 100% curable.0 -

thanks icemantoo. I'm looking at 2 major surgeries in a short period of time- fir me that makes it worse. Hopefully the next months will really suck- and than I'll have clear sailing for some time. I certainly hope so.0
