Saundra's in the hospital
When they suspected an obstruction in the large intestine (what remains after her colostomy back in April), they did a series of three enemas 8 hours apart, with warm water and soapy substance. She also got two units of blood last night.
Last Wednesday she started on topotecan, which will repeat again two times each Wendesday, the idea being that shrinking tumors would help the bowel situation. It will take a couple of weeks for this to have effect. She was on cisplatin and gemcytabine since mid-June, until her obstruction occured on Oct. 10.
I won't post again or follow your comments unless her situation changes drastically. Keep Sandy in your thoughts and prayers. She has fought the good fight for over three and a half years, wonderful years for both of us. Since her diagnosis in March 2007, we've been to Costa Rica, Japan, on a Panama Canal cruise, and spend a Christmas in Santa Fe and another in San Antonio.
She loves her Survivors Network friends. You've been a great source of encouragement and spiritual strength for her.

I have to get my day started, so I can't bump anymore. But I really want to be sure everyone sees this so that Saundra gets the full Teal Treatment! Send those teal winged prayers flying up, ladies!

Dearest Saundra
I am so saddened to hear this news. I just will never understand why such good people become afflicted with this horrid disease. You are in my prayers and I want you to know that I will NEVER forget your kindness and generosity and spirit when I was feeling sooo low and discouraged. You were a complete and total Godsend to me. I hope you can gain some comfort and pain relief and if it's time for you to go to God, I pray that He meets you with the glorius greeting that you deserve...I am crying while I write this. Now I have to go....I have no more words. Lisa0 -

Dearest Saundra
I'm so sorry to hear this news. You have been through so much! I'm praying for you today, that the obstruction will clear quickly, you will rest peacefully, have good communication with the nurses/doctors and most of all you will feel God's loving arms around you during this time.
Love you,
