Hot Damn - Reconnection time!!!!!!
It is imperative that I blow away a deer and have venison in the freezer. This gives me 4 days to kill one. It’s a big thing in our family as my 2 sons and 1 grandson also deer hunt.

The Ozarks area is whitetail country. They are planing to put some elk down this way.
Our deer are smaller then the corn/bean fed ones in nothern Missouri. They eat just as good. I love deer chili. I got a part mule deer up north 20 years back. He was big. Had the very big/wide nose.

Yep...... I'm a hunting widow from Oct. to Jan. It gets so bad at my house that the only way I get sex is to strap on a rack, cover me with doe-in-heat and do some grunt calls... and yes...you bet your sweet arse I do!!! Hubby bow, shotgun and black powder hunts. In many different areas...from the back 20 to Canada to Colorado. That is where he is now and just took down a 5x5 elk. His 3rd. Many record bucks including Illinois State, Pope & Young, and Boone & Crockett. Good news on the plumbing Kerry!!! You take care.

Do you ever make deer jerky? My dad makes some every year from deer he hunts and his greatgrand kids love it.

I was thinking about you the other day. My folks live in the woods right on the edge of the Yadkin River. They've got about five acres of bottom land that's open with several walnut trees. One of the walnut trees died a few years ago; so my son, dad and I cut it down and sawed it up for fire wood. It was great to run a chain saw for the first time since all the cancer **** began. My dad's got a Kubota compact tractor and he and my son Owen -4 yrs old - drive it all over. Owen can warm it, crank it up, set the throttle where he wants it, steer, operate the bucket control, engage the PTI ect. I think if he could reach the peddles, we could just sit back and watch him tcb.
Anyway, I guess the vibrations of the saw really got my system moving, and MR. Dribbles filled the bag in a flash. We're out in the middle of nowhere, so the only option was to wander off behind a tree. You got me thinking about overalls a while back, and I have to thank you for that. They are the only comfortable piece of clothing I've worn in a year. No belt line. However, overalls make emptying the pouch a little more challenging - lots of kneeling, stooping, flinging etc. I'm getting to be a pro at this stuff and got everything taken care without too much trouble. I thought about you and I just had to shake my head and laugh about the crap we have to deal with.
? for you - What will you do if you have to empty the bag when you're up in the stand? It won't be that difficult, but it might give the deer something else to smell and be wary of. On the other hand, the smell might make them curious.

My friend, a lot of folks suffer from the Bambi syndrome. I always ask those folks if, when they see a cattle truck on the interstate, do they really think the cows are on their way to 6 Flags to enjoy the rides for the day? We take pride in making a quick kill.

There is nothing better then operating a tractor for young or old men.
The best garb I have found is jeans with suspenders. I just unzip - roll up the shirt tails and the suspenders keep them in place.

If you or anyone has watched that silly, stupid movie My Cousin Vinny, Marisa Tomei goes into a rant about killing a deer. It makes me laugh every time. John's first part of his post made me think about it.
Growing up, the domestic butcher would come out and bring his gun. We loved watching him. He was one skilled marksman. We didn't stand a chance of Bambi syndrome. We ate a lot of elk and deer growing up. I still love it.0 -
