Incontinence and Mom

Hi everyone,
Mom has been feeling really down about the incontinence she is experiencing. She is wearing the Depends and really hates it. We were told it was from the radiation. The home health nurse tried to get her to do those Keegle? exercises but she said she can't do them. Do you think with time this will go away or is this a forever thing? Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Thanks all. Best health to everyone.
Love,
Linda

Mom......
You need to start rebuilding that muscle that makes us stop peeing. It is an easy exercise and it should be done about 25 times at a stint, and about 5 times a day. You will be amazed at how short a period it will be before incontinence is hopefully a distant memory...Love to ya, Clift0 -
Has this been mentioned to her Doc?
The reason I ask is that I had the same problem when I first got out of the hospital. As it turned out I had a urinary tract infection which was part of the problem.
What is it about the exercises that keeps your mom from doing them? Perhaps if the home health nurse or you were to do them with her, she might get the hang of it.

Keagle Excercise
Keagle's aren't difficult to do. It's perhaps the feeling she gets when she does them.
I know I tried to do the keagle's, but embarrassing enough, they give me the shivers, and well.... a pleasant feeling, which with her age, probably equates to some sort of guilty feeling. I know when I try to do Keagle's I can't do more then 5, it's intense, and is probably the same for your mother. Forced weight loss through cancer has stopped any incontinence with me. Keagle's are good and easy if she can get past the "feeling". So she has a choice, do the Keagle's or suffer the incontinence. She CAN do the Keagle's, whether she chooses to do so is entirely her choice. I would suggest speaking more on this with her.
