I know how long the road
I know how long the road back can be, and I am so excited that you are coming back around to feeling like yourself. I hope you have a great time at work (is that possible?) and a wonderful time at parents weekend.0 -
Sometimes it is the little
Sometimes it is the little things that make us happiest. Makes us feel like we are returning to some kind of normal.
So happy for you.

It's awful to see what cancer does take from us, and it's good to see you "taking back"! Have a blast this weekend. I've been to several, and they are fun!0 -
Penny, good luck as you
Penny, good luck as you venture back to work. Also, have a wonderful time at your daughter's "parents weekend". Isn't it amazing what a difference a year can make? For those out there just starting or wondering if some "normal" will every return.....here's your proof.0 -

I am so very happy for you!
I am so very happy for you! I truly enjoyed reading this post~ it has been a long year and I couldn't be happier that you have things to really look forward to. Even with the job being demanding, I am certain that even that will channel your time and energy away from Last Year and put you into the Now! (Do you know what I mean??)
The best news, of course is Parent's Weekend at college; that you are up to it is just wonderful!
YAY!!!
Hugs,

Have a great week end
Isn't it great to be able to do things you weren't able to do before. A little bit of normal is so wonderful.

Well
You have battled cancer for so long; work will be a breeze..I pray that your mind and your body will adjust to your job soon..I wish you well and thanks for sharing your story and advice with me. I can never put into words how you and the other beautiful ladies here have been the mother I no longer have, sister I never had, and the friend I hope to find. So I have faith that soon work and just your normal activities with your family will be just that 'normal'..0 -
What wonderful news! Please
What wonderful news! Please let us know how parents weekend is for you and your daughter. And starting slowly while working up to your regular hours sounds like the right way to go. My positive thoughts continue for you.
Hugs to you,

Good luck with returning to
Good luck with returning to work and glad to hear you will be taking it slowly. You have been through so much and you need to ease back in, especially if your job is demanding physically and mentally. And so happy that you will going to parents weekend aat your daughter's college. It is a bit like the completion of a circle and I am glad that you made the loop. I hope all goes beautifully for you from here on.

Dear Carkis, So happy to read your post and hear that you're returning to your job. It might seem a little strange at first but you're taking it slowly, and that will help. After awhile, you'll probably feel like your old self doing your old job and it will all feel normal. Hope you have a great time with your daughter and know she will appreciate you even more for being there. Its been a long year or more for you so its time to restart your engine. I always enjoy your posts and wait to hear more good news from you.0 -
Hang In There - Stamina Will Come Each Day
I bet the first day is going to tire you out, but with each day passing, you will grow stronger and have more stamina at work. Just take one day at a time. Eat healthy. And...have a wonderful time at parents weekend. How exciting!!!
Lots of Hugs,

thank you all for your kind words. Parents weekend was fun. although we spent tons of money stocking up on groceries and time cleaning her dorm!! LOL I was a bit pooped but I know she was happy as she missed us last year. I havent seen her in two months so it was fun. Work will be a challenge. I am a pediatric ICU nurse, but my work means so much too me. I remember being so frustrated, thinking I had better things to do with my time than being sick!! (dont we all). so returning on a limited basis will be great. i'll let you know but am sure I will feel like Ive been hit by a truck. Remind me later girls that I said I was looking forward to it!!!!!0 -

You made it! Hard to imagine this was possible, at the start of our journey -way back when. Our inner strength and energy takes a while to come back, but everyday a little peek of our 'before' breast cancer self appears .. little by little.
Life is short, and there are many bumps in the road - so please take it easy at work and if at all possible .. go back to the pediatric ICU part time - so you can built up your tolerance to new gems, and gain more strength.
You know your body better than anyone, including most doctors. Best of luck, I am here in your corner .. doing a happy dance for you!
Strength and Courage.
