Thomas, I, too, was sad to read your post but know that Lesley is no longer in pain. You have been a tremendous support and caregiver for your beautiful wife. I lost my husband 22 years ago and he too was very peaceful as he left us. It was actually a very overcast day and he was, as he requested, at home to die. Once he took that final breath, the clouds parted and the sun was beaming over him. It gives me chills everytime I think of it but to me that was a beautiful ending to his wonderful life on this earth. There will be some challenging times ahead for you but I can promise you that your children will keep you going. I know mine did. You'll also be sustained with the beautiful memories that you all will carry in your heart forever. Take care of yourself as you transition and please come back here and let us know how you and the kids are doing.0 -

I think of the poem "Footsteps" about the person up in heaven looking back on his life, seeing God's footsteps beside him, then saying why in those most difficult times is there only one set of footsteps, why did you leave me then, and God's response was that was when I carried you.

I offer you my deepest sympathy for your loss of Lesley. You have lost her physically, but, she will live on eternally in your mind and heart. Cherish your memories and know that she is free of pain now. She is with God and will now be an angel that will be watching over you and your family.
Thank you for sharing Lesley with us, her sisters in pink. I am honored to have gotten to know her through your writing of her. What a courageous and special woman she was.

Leslie our Warrior has left our earth to be with her father in heaven. She was a true fighter - and hoped for a cure until the end. I recall her full of life just a few days ago visiting with family and friends - as it should be.
Stay strong Marine - as another chapter of life unfolds for you and your children.

God bless you and your family. Lesley is at peace and no longer in pain. She has crossed over to the other side and now resides in Heaven. God will take good care of your beloved Lesley. Although she has moved on, she remains with you and yours, too. She will forever be in your heart. There will be moments were simple events will bring back happy memories of the time you spent together as man and wife. May these memories be of comfort to you.
