2 Year Cancerversary!!!!!

If you go by days and not dates, today is the 2nd anniversary of my lumpectomy. Actually, the date is 10/13 - which is Wednesday, but I'm not waiting until then!!!! I cannot believe its been 2 years. Every day on my way to work I pass the Surgeon's office. Today I have my weekely (yes, still going every week) to my oncologist appointment, and on the 20th I will have my next mammogram. Last year's showed another lump, which was benign, but they removed it anyway. So this one has me a little nervous, but taking it in stride. I hope all the newbies have as positive experience with their doctors and treatment as I have had with mine. And I pray for all of us every day that we all can beat this beast that has taken over our lives.

    Pat,
    Good to hear from you and happy to see that things have been going well. That nervousness is normal before your recheck and especially since you had a bit of a scare last year. But you will soon be posting NED again for us and we will all celebrate. Prayers and good thoughts all is good on your mammo.

    So glad you stayed on the site.
    Congratulations! It will be a year for me next March 31st and I intend to check this site whenever I can to offer support to the newbies and anyone else who needs my love. Please continue as we need all the survivors we can to offer encouragement. My oncologist told me that the biggest risk or recurrence is in the first 2 years so this is really a milestone for you.

    So happy for you! I know getting your mammogram can be anxiety producing, but I'm sure you'll be fine! I still get a little nervous and it's been 9 years for me! It does get less and less over time. But I think it will always be somewhere in the back of one's mind. But the further out you get, the less it "creeps" in!!

    Hope you do something fabulous for yourself today! You deserve it!!! :)

    Pat, I remember when you first came on here. Can it really be two years? Wow! I used to be nervous about mammograms BEFORE I was diagnosed! It's normal to feel a little anxious. Best wishes for many many many more anniversaries. xoxoxox Lynn
