I'm going to enjoy the weekend staring at my new flower bed, enjoying the daisies, petunias, geraniums (pink and red) along with the other mirad of flowers I planted this past week after building the flower bed, will finish planting my 50 tulip bulbs, pray the lilies which are starting to grow will handle their transplant (the ones in the side yard have and are getting ready to bloom in about 4 weeks). I get such pleasure from watching the butterflies and hummingbirds visit the back yard. Not to brag, but a plus of living in California, my flowers bloom at different times all year round.

hi holly ,how is yourHollyID said:Very rainy and wet here....
It's potato digging time here in Idaho. I was going to help my brothers dig spuds, but it's way too wet to dig. I'm sure they're bummed too.
I think I'll stay home and cook. LOL I have apples that need to go in a pie.

Busy weekend ahead!
Today, I'm having a leisurely morning and about to make some breakfast. Then pack an overnight bag and head downtown to meet 3 girlfriends and their daughters... we are having a Girls Night out tonight! Shopping this afternoon (see how much damage I can do), then out for dinner to an Aussie restaurant "Joey's", then up to the wee hours of the morning playing games or just yakking. We will meet for breakfast at the hotel in the morning and then back home I go for a couple of hours, before I turn around and head over to friends for Thanksgiving Turkey dinner. A bunch of friends... good times! I'll probably get home fairly late Sunday night... time to sleep, then up in the morning and out to meet my sister. It's her 50th birthday on Monday, so we are going book shopping, then out to lunch then off to the casino for an afternoon of slots and sister fun
Other than that... not much happenin'

Canadian Thanksgiving!
I am waiting for the nurse to come + disconnect me from chemo (they were supposed to come this morning but the orders got mixed up). My oldest daughter + I are hanging out while my youngest daughter + husband have gone out of town to celebrate Thanksgiving. Tomorrow night the 4 of us will have a nice turkey dinner here. Monday I think some friends are coming over for a visit.0 -

Not bad...pepebcn said:hi holly ,how is your
brother doing with it's new onc?
best.
He asked me last Monday if I'd come and "babysit" him on Tuesday morning while he got chemo. He did really well. He's on Taxol and carboplatin. He did so good. No nausea, no nothing. Just a little tired. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, his wife called me and told me he was running a fever of anywhere between 102 and 104. That's WAY too high. She took him to the ER and he has pneumonia. He should have come home yesterday. He actually looked better on Thursday than he did on Tuesday. He just felt worse.
He loves our oncologist. When he was in the hospital, they said they could call in his old one to consult. He told them not to even let him in the door. It really wasn't oncological he was in there for, but medical. He told them if they had any questions about his chemo or treatments, they could call our onc.
It's all good. I have very high hopes for him.
Either way, we're going to be OK.
Thanks for asking Pepe.
Love to you and yours.

My parentspepebcn said:Unfortunadely weather horrible here.
Summer has finished so sudden !.
Have a great weekend ,but, don't think to much some times is not good for health! haha.
Hugs.
My parents are headed to your country in a few days. They fly in to Madrid and then go to southern Spain to the coast to Seville, Marbella, Granada and more. They were happy about the weather forecasts. 60's for highs and 40's for lows in Madrid, and then at the coast 80's for highs and 60's for lows.
Their last trip to Spain the spent a lot of time in Basque country - several nights in Sitges and time in Barcelona (with my youngest daughter). This time they are tagging along with a group mostly from my grandmother's retirement home. Sure wish I could get to Spain. One of these days - it is on my bucket list!0 -
Beautiful here!
I got up early and worked, then spent some time outside before returning to work. I'm headed out for a walk in a bit. Tomorrow we are going for a drive along the river to look at the spectacular fall colors. I'd like to hike, but the neuropathy in my feet makes that too dangerous for me now. But maybe we can find a state park with a nice paved trail. if I could just get a little more energy maybe we'll bring the bikes.
I would have been miserable today - it should have been chemo disconnect day. So I am lucky to have this break. I was so worried about it before, but now that I know my CEA cut in half after the first treatment, and is dropping rather than rising right now, I'm enjoying this!0 -

About the neuropathy, my onc said that theory says neuropathy is worse when you are fatigued, so that any chemo causing fatigue will worsen what is left of the neuropathy, but once we aren't so fatigued, should get better.
Only time will tell. I'm not so sure it is only due to fatigue. I think all chemo does some damage to nerve pathways, so it is interrupting the healing from the damage done before by the oxaliplatin, and setting me back a bit right now. I say this because i was dealing with EXTREME fatigue from my thyroid problems, yet my neuropathy was improving. But now on chemo again, it is worse. But maybe it is affected by the extremely low white blood cell counts? Maybe that affects neuropathy too?0 -

Gamecocks beat Alabama!!!!pepebcn said:Enjoy the tide Catherine ,
hope for the miracle!
I know this is off topic but I am so excited! I went to the game and it was exhilerating! 87,000 screaming fans, great music and heart!! Finally, we finished the job the way we know we can! And to make it sweeter, Gameday was here and Corso (once again) picked our opponent and put the Elephant head on!
Pepe, you probably don't understand much of this but my football team (University of South Carolina) beat the #1 team, Alabama, in the nation today in a decisive manner!
Now we are tired and glad to be home. Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend.
