Hi Sue,
I just posted to you on another thread, but wanted to add my best birthday wishes in this thread also!
Thanks for your wonderful posts and congratulations on your new computer!
And someday I would like to meet Hubby - sounds like I would like him - as crazy as me maybe. If Mimi-Warrior reads about him, she'll be jealous because so much of our life's antics have been put on hold with the cancer. (But your Hubby story has been an inspiration, so I'm going to find some antics of my own! - Different picture, I'm sure:)
Anyway, fish fry with the family - what could be better for #60? (We have that in common.) And you know what - yesterday we became grandparents for the 3rd time! Our new granddaughter Ellie was born (via C-section) yesterday afternoon and at over 9 pounds, dark hair, big feet and wide open blue eyes - she is BEAUTIFUL!
So much for us to look forward to. Stay the course, Sue!
Happy Birthday.
Tom
To you and your family. What a happy tome for you. My daughter had twin girls in May, shortly after I finished my final treatment(I had 6 rounds of R CHOP and then the Zevalin). What a gift they have been and a reminder that life goes on and I need to be here for it. Again congrats Mary0 -
Happy Birthday Sue
Hi Sue - just read it was your birthday 2 days ago - happy belated birthday! 60 - you're just a child - for me that was 7 years ago. I grew up in the mountains of WV but my Grandmother lived in Gainesville, FL. We came to visit every April for 2 weeks and went to High Springs each visit for the most wonderful fish fry on the Swannee River - I can still remember those wonderful times! My Uncle fried fish outside the "camp", his wife made coleslaw and hush puppies inside, and Rum Cake for dessert - good eating. What kind of fish did you use in WA for your birthday fry? Fran0 -

Hi Fran,
We cooked salmon on cedar board on the barbecue and also deep fried beer battered bass. We do the majority of our fishing for salmon and steelhead, but when hubby doesn't want to drive to the river which is about 2 hours from home, he drives right outside of town to some wonderful bass ponds. Our youngest son has a guide service on the side of his full time job, so our freezers are always stocked with fish. Steve cans fish, smokes it, and then of course we grill it. Our oldest son worked 12 years on an Alaskan fishing boat out in the Bering Sea, so we always had a ton of fish when he came home from fishing. He finally quit that job after a scary experience last winter and is now a union roofer here locally. I had to dye my hair with all the gray hairs of worrying about him fishing the Bering Sea in the dead of winter. Sooo glad I don't have to go through another winter worrying about loosing him!! Anyways..got carried away, but it gives you an idea of why we are always cooking fish, or fishing. We give away so much fish because it's so plentiful with all of us being such avid fishermen. Love...Sue0 -
