Very sad news

Hi all,
I just got home from a walk. As I went past my neighbor and friends home, she popped out to say hello. She said that her husband is in hospice right now. They were at the house and she introduced us to them and all the family from out of town. Her husband has esophageal cancer. It's so sad, he was such a leader in our neighborhood. My friends mom and my mom are living in the same senior home. So we have many connections to each other. Another sad story of loss. It just made me so sad, thinking of him , my mom in law , myself and all of you. Some days it just sucks to have cancer...

peaceful healing to all of you.....
Lisha

This makes me think how widespread cancer is. It really sucks. I am so sorry for your people's loss.

My aunt got bad news today too. She's had colon cancer twice, now it's in her bladder. She has to have her bladder removed, part of her vagina because the tumor is touching it. She's likely going to lose her colon too.

I'm terrified for my test. 10 days of stool softners and all I can do is thin pencil like stools.

    I hate cancer.

    Sad indeed
    Hi Lisha,
That is sad to hear. There are so many people going through this that it's just heart breaking. I hope you can put some of this to the back of your mind and try to enjoy the time you are away. Have a safe trip tomorrow. Love...Sue

    Hi Beth,
Try to think positive until the colonoscopy is done. I know how hard it is to do, but maybe it's just some minor blockage in your colon thats causing the thin stools. I'll sure be praying for you!...Love...Sue

    You always help...
    Hi Lisha,
You give plenty of support in retun! Helps me knowing you are a night owl and possibly close by on the net...ha!(a Libra thing?) I had a "wonderful" birthday! My best friends daughter is my chemo buddy and tonight she showed up with home made enchillada's(sp?), re-fried beans with rice, home made salsa and a big yummy strawberry jello cake. I hadn't made any plans for diner, so her timing was perfect. I made her stay and eat with us and then invited her and her husband to our fish fry on Saturday. I am so blessed with wonderful family and friends that care about me. This new laptop is awesome, but I can't get use to the built in pad thingy instead of having a mouse. I barely touch the pad and the arrow goes goofy and I end up in places I have no idea how I got there! Chelsie is going to get a mouse for me which will probably help...ha! I am sooo not a techy person...simple is best for me. Since you don't leave until Saturday morning maybe tomorrow will be a rest up kind of day...I'm sure going too! Turning 60 made me tired...ha!(just kidding)! Love...Sue

    Idea
    Hi Sue,

Yes, I am a true nightowl. If I try to go to sleep early, it never works out. So I have stopped trying..
I have a thought that you might want to look into. It is super helpful for me.
I bought a wireless mouse to use with my laptop. It comes with this little thing you plug into the side of the laptop and just leave it there. It is tiny so you don't even notice it. Should last a year or two. Then you can use the mouse that came with the little thingy with out using any cords. I too struggle with the lame finger pad. Just can't get used to it. The wireless mouse is the greatest. I highly recommend that you buy one. I think if I didn't have it, I would never use my laptop, only the desk top. Hope this info helps on your journey into the tech world...LOL
    Peaceful healing

    Sounds great!
Thats a great idea Lisha. Chelsie will be here after her morning classes and then I'll have her go pick one up for me. She will know the best wireless mouse to get...I have a terrible time choosing...ha! I'm having a blast figuring everything out while I'm lounged out in my comfy chair...beats the heck out of my desk top computer!
    Thanks...Love...Sue

    Happy Birthday!
    Hi Sue!

Sorry I missed your birthday - Wednesday? But a very happy birthday to you!
You and I have a couple of things in common. One is that we both turned 60 in September, 2010, when we were on chemo.
It sounds like you all have a very pleasant weekend planned - and congratulations on your new computer. When Connie got her laptop (several years ago, now) she didn't even use it for a year. Then one day she discovered that she could buy very unique things for the grandbabies over the Internet. Now she uses it for hours at a time, right at her comfy seat in the den.

Good luck with the mouse. I find it more difficult to use a mouse when I'm sitting in the den, so I just use the keypad. But everyone should use what works best for them. Even my 84 year old Mother is lost without her computer. (She has severe muscle tremors so bad that she has a hard time even eating. So I found a gizmo mouse attachment out of the UK that I hooked into one of her USB ports and then hook the mouse into the gizmo, and it damps her erratic movements down enough so that she can actually use the mouse! For her, it's a life saver.)

Anyway, have a GREAT weekend and happy birthday!
    Tom
