Update for the Ladies

Update for you ladies who may have had a similar experience. A few months back I posted that nine months after finishing chemo I had a pap test that showed severely abnormal cells and my gyno pretty much said they were probably cancer cells. He did a biopsy of the cervix that came out negative. Still concerned about where the bad cells came from he scheduled me for out patient surgery, a D & C, Hysteroscopy, & a cone biopsy. Again all negative. Meanwhile I had a f/u appt. with my onc. He said the bad pap test was his fault as chemo can cause a change to cell structure. I also had a f/u CT and a ultra sound that looked OK. So, my gyno consulted with a specialist onc/gyno and they felt I should at least have my ovaries removed but a total hysterectomy wouldn't be out of line. I figured if I'm going to go through surgery again, take it all, I don't need it. I had surgery in August and again all the path reports were negative. My oncologist may have been right all along but I'm glad I had the surgery. One less thing to worry about. Now, the end of October is my 2nd f/u colonoscopy. Hopefully, all will be well. I feel it will be. At least I don't have to see my gyno for a whole year.
