Yup, me too!
At my scheduling of my bowel resection, I was asked about my uterus, etc...since my mom had had endometrial cancer (survived), and considering my age (49 at the time), I said "Take all of it!!!".
They did. Ovaries, too. My GYN surgeon said it was the smallest uterus she every removed, perfect in every way...lol...only thing I had that was... After 3 months of hot flashes, etc, I went back to 'normal', and have never looked back.
I asked that the order of removal be first the hyster, then the resection, since the uterus rides above where the gastric surgeon needed to be (why they didn't come up with that thought, I don't know...ROFL~), they had it the other way around...
No regrets, but I was done with kids anyway, so for me it was a slam dunk decision...and now with one less place that the beast can reappear in...
Thanks for the info!

While I was being prepped for the hysterectomy, my colon resection surgeon came by and I had a chance to talk to her. I asked about if they should have taken my female parts during that surgery. She said since I had no family history they didn't do it. If I knew more at the time, maybe I would have requested it.
That is funny what you said about the size. I asked my GYN how much the uterus weighed and I think is was only about 1 ounce. I was thinking I'd have a noticeable weight loss. Oh well.
It was good hearing your story. It sounds like you are doing well.
Take Care & Hugs to you,
