JohnSFO update
Yesterday we met with her and together we all decided that it's time to call in Hospice. In the past doctors have avoided giving anything that resembled a prediction of life-expectancy, but yesterday she told us that based on everything going on with him, it could be a few weeks or a few months.
We continue to feel amazing support from our families and friends and also our local CRC support group at UCSF.
Although we haven't been active on here in a long time, we do continue to think about you guys and are so grateful for all the caring and support you've shown us over the last few years.
Thanks to each of you -
with love,
Adrian

Praying
You both are always on my mind and was just hoping that John would have gotten a break and a treatment for him would have been found. Also so sorry that his pain is so bad, but glad that you were able to find someone to help alleviate some of it. Please tell John that he is a valued part of this board and he continues to be thought and prayed for. Adrian, your heart with the semi-colon will forever be a picture that will never be forgot. You are a wonderful artist. Thank you for the update and keep us posted.

I am so sorry
For the both of you, this has been such a tough journey. I'm glad that you are getting the support you need, sure wish John wasn't in such pain. I pray that whatever time he has left, you two will be able to enjoy each other's company and be comforted in love and strength. I hope John is still able to enjoy his garden.

I think often of you both....
and hoped against all odds that John recovered miraculously, and that you both were out painting the world red....
I'm sorry that he has so much pain, but glad that you have a doctor that understands....
We each must walk the last bit, it's wonderful that you are keeping him as much loved as possible. I am placing a soft mother's kiss on John's forehead...
You must be exhausted, so I say to you, dear friend...sleep, take care of you....
Wel terusten, lieverd!
Hugs to you both, Kathi0 -
Thank you for posting
So glad you posted, but am sorry to hear that John is in such pain.
I am glad that you both have lots of local support, but hope you will continue to come here to allow us to help you as we can.
You are both in our thoughts and prayers.

Brings quick tears to my
Brings quick tears to my eyes and a heavy heart to read that John is in such pain. This hasn't been an easy time for him and you either. But you both have faced this with such grace and courage. Even now Adrian, your words are comforting. John is never far from my thoughts and I continue to hold both of you in the light and pray for peaceful and restful days ahead. It just hurts so that he is in such pain. It ISN"T SUPPOSE TO BE LIKE THIS! I so pray that this doctor will be able to help- that God will give her the skill to help and understand his pain so he can be free. He is deserving of that.
Hugs and love to both of you.

Thanks for the update
I think about you guys all the time. John has dealt with his disease on his own terms, in his own way. He's never lost his zest for life and I continue to be inspired by both of you.
Many sparks to you. Please keep us updated when you can.

I was wondering how you guys were doing. I hope John still gets to enjoy his garden. Your news saddens me, but please know John's strength through this has inspired me to be stronger. I pray John's pain is lessened and his passing is peaceful. I'll pray for you to maintain your courage, strength and compassion to endure his passing.0 -

with such a heavy heart I read your post this morning. I cannot tell you why I always felt so close to you two but I did and still do.
I pray that hospice will give John all the help and comfort possible and perhaps some solution to his intense pain.
Holding you both

Adrian...
Thank you for the update. I've often wondered how you two were doing.
I'm so sorry to read of John's pain. I hope that hospice gives him the care that he deserves. I'm also grateful that you've found a compassionate physician who understands palliative measures. Adrian, I hope you take comfort in knowing your compassion, love and faithfulness is comforting to the rest of us as well.
Love and hugs to you both,

HI Guys
Adrian
As everyone has mentioned, I'm sorry to hear about all of this. John really put his foot forward and gave this fight everything that he had. I hope that hospice will provide pain relief during the transition and that both of you find peace at this stage of the journey.
"Holding you in the light" as you like to say - it seems very appropriate right about now.
