Taxol treatment

I am interested in what warrants getting taxol treatments after completing chemo. Is this a maintenance procedure or does something else have to show up.
Thanks

It is maintenance
It is maintenance therapy...properly known as "consolidation therapy". Long story short, there was a study begun but never finished on Taxol maintenance for women who finish first line treatment and achieve NED status. Some doctors do not credit it with doing any long-term good. My doctor sometimes offers, but never pushes it. I agreed to do a year of Taxol maintenance and have 5 more infusions to go. They are every 4 weeks, at about 7/8ths of the "full" dose. I have done very well with it. One good thing is that it almost guarantees you a year of good health because the chance of a recurrence while on maintenance is almost zero.
