Insurance
Anyone know of a "good" insurance company that will actually offer insurance to someone going through cancer treatment. I have insurance now through Cobra since I was laid off last year but it is coming to an end and I need to have something in place to pay for my clean PET scans for the next few years. As I am disabled, I am eligible for Medicare but would prefer not to as it limits the dr's I can see and would require me switching treatment centers and oncologists. Any information would be helpful. Thanks,
Bob

Insurance
Good Morning;
If you have been with your health insurance more than 18 months, no pre-exisitng conditions can apply. This is a new law that took effect last year. They cannot penalize you for any conditions. Ask your existing insurance for a HIPPA form. This is a certificate verifing you have had insurance for at least 18 months. Although they are a competitor, I would suggest United.
Good Luck to you!0 -

I would stay way from UMR/UnitedHealthcare Services, Inc because now me and my wife are having problems with them because they would only pay some bills in full or half pay after we already met are 4k for the year and as of today I am still fighting with them about having them paying the bills in full. By way I am on my wifes insurance that she gets from work.0 -

Thanks Always. I wasn't aware of that. I have been with this company for almost 3 years now and have had uninterrupted coverage for about 8 years total. I appreciate your help.

Hi Bob and fellow californian,
Sometimes I read a few different areas of discussion. We all should do that , I think. You never know where your next helpful bit might come from.
Peaceful healing...
