Doea anyone know of this surgeon?

I don't know if maybe you can find the answer to this but if anyone can, I suspect you can.

You have mentioned many times that the surgeon that did your MIE surgery was in Pittsburg, and he is one of the best. You also have mentioned some other doctors that he had trained in this proceedure.

One of the surgeons Jim aka Gatoraid spoke with is a Harin Fernando, MBBS at the Boston Medical Center. When I found this doctors Bio I discovered that he did his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh PA (2001)

I am assuming these papers were co-authored by both your surgeon and the surgeon my brother has seen. I am quite interested to know if my brothers surgeon was trained by or worked directly with Dr Luketich?

If through your sorces of information you can tell me more about Dr. Fernando, I think it may help Jim with his decision regarding who does his surgery when the time comes.

If anyone else has been a patient of Dr. Fernando, we would like to hear from you.

    I don't know much about the Boston Medical surgeon but Dr. Kent also trained at UPenn. He is one of the authors in one of the studies you have mention. He did Ian's surgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess.

    Thanks William for your time. Yes this is the doctor I was asking about. I did find the vitals site and was able to read the information you pointed out. Dr. Fernando's credentials are impecable and I'm reasonably sure he will be the surgeon when the time comes. At least as long as that option remains on the table.

    Again, thank you for taking the time to reply. Your posts are always very informative. I haven't spoke with my brother in several days so I am not sure of any recent developments.

    I do wish to thank Sherri, Lori, Linda, Jennie, Susie, Kim, Jane, Amy, Deb, Cindy, Tina, Sandy, Donna, and all of the people that have been so kind in answering the questions I have asked in the past month or so. I haven't replied to many of the postings only because I do not feel that I am really qualified to offer advice.

    I do wish to say that through your comments and replies that I have come to worry and rejoice with each of you in your quest to conquer beat this beast called cancer. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as I walk through this maze of information. To think that you would take the time out of your days and nights to offer your support to others while your own quest is consuming your all, shows me that you are all extraordinary people.

    My heart goes out to all of you and may God bless you all.

    Rob,

    I just want to tell you that all of your posts concerning your brother are an inspiration to read. For you to devote so much time to your brother's EC indicates the level of love and compassion you have for him. Your humor at times is a good diversion as well. Sounds like you and Jim have a special relationship.
