The dry mouth has been keeping me up all night and i start staring at the walls. I feel like i can't get good rest at all. I am getting tired but can't really sleep. It's a pain in the butt. Any suggestions?

Biotene Gel, Liquid, Spray and Mouthwash
I keep a tall glass of water with a straw right next to the bed. I rinse with the mouthwash, apply a coating of gel (blech) to the inside of my mouth, and keep the Biotene Spray right close at hand. I wake up anywhere from three to six or seven times a night with a completely dry mouth, then reapply either the gel or the spray, take a slug of waterr to re-wet my throat, and try to go back to sleep. I'm getting better at it, but for now, an uninterrupted night's sleep is a thing of the past. I'm hoping for improvement, as more time passes.

    Sleep!
I am almost seven month's post treatment & have been sleeping pretty much through the night for the past couple of month's. Sometimes my throat is pretty dry & I will get up for
a sip of water. It will get better however, I sure as heck had my doubts!

Mike has the opposite problem, his saliva is still pretty thick. He got excited because the dr removed his trech ( he had it in since last December @ Christmas) but now he has a hard time sleeping..all the excessive saliva doesn't know where to go

    Yep it's awful
I use GC Dry Mouth gel over night. I get it at my dentist. If I don't I am up every hour. With the dry mouth products I may go for three hrs. I am trying to figure out what to do for choir rehersal. Trying to sing again and nothing is helping yet. Good luck.

I'm not having much luck at rehearsal. :( my mouth is too dry and my tongue hurts. Tried the biotene products, and the spray every ten minutes. Not helping. Maybe try the GC Gel.

    Humidifier
Using a humidifier really helped me. The one I used was a portable one (about 40 dollars, I think). I think it made a big difference. I'm six months out now, and (thank you) only wake up at night to shush our dogs, or answer the call of nature. Yep, I keep water by the bed because I'm dry when I wake up, but that's not what wakes me. Besides upping my water intake, I also avoided salt and caffeine (caffeine blocks water absorption). Good luck.

    STOPPERS 4
I just ordered some on Hodo's advice. Cannot wait until it gets here. A friend of my wife gave her some bottles of a swallowable wash called Prevention, Oncology Mouth Rinse. Active Ingredients are Glycerine & Menthol. I let it sit in my mouth for a minute or so and then swallowed. it does bring some relief, but does not last very long.

    Hey Pam-
I keep forgetting to get a humidifier!! Does it have to be right by your bed? Or can it be like five or six feet away?
