I cannot say with 100%
I cannot say with 100% accuracy that it is a true statement, but the stastics show 80% of SCLC is only caught AFTER it has metastisizsed. It is an aggresive mover.
My mom's dx came about due to the mets in her brain, 20 lessions, her primary was a 5cm tumor in right lung. SCLC. 4 weeks after dx, it also spread to her spine.
Double edge sword, it is aggressive, yet more responsive to treamtent than NSC, but then comes the aggressive part out of hiding again...
My best to you..
