tissue expander exchange

I had my exchange surgery 3
I had my exchange surgery 3 weeks ago but so far I am pleased with the results. Mine don't have as much projection as those rock hard expanders, but they are fuller than they were before. Initially I was disappointed because I thought I was smaller than with the expanders until I discovered that they were fuller. I was barely a B before surgery and just bought a bra and had to get a C. Have you tried on any bras? I bet that would help get the look you want. I was disappointed that I don't really have cleavage, but I knew that going in. My PS said they have to work with your body shape and mine wouldn't allow for that. I can get a good look though with a push up bra although it's still too early for me to wear one, still too uncomfortable. I would try Victoria's Secret and get yourself something pretty. Hope this helps!0 -

I know just what you mean. I had my tissue expanders taken out and silicone implants put in back in May of this year. I'm still not all that pleased with my result. I knew going in that I didn't want to be as big as I used to be, but I think I should have gone a little bigger. I stopped with the expansions too soon. What I do now is wear a padded bra and I think I look pretty normal in clothes. Sure is a lot more comfortable than the tissue expanders though, so I'll live with it. Hang in there. In time they will look better.

Hi Shelbyhome,
Mine have been out since March and what a difference!
I have photos and stories about my experience if you think it might help. (www.mymastectomyonline.com)
I'm at the nipple reconstruction phase right now. Fun, fun, fun.
My new boobs are much smaller than before and I have 800cc implants. So as a larger woman physically this was very tough on my emotionally.
I'm told the projection on silicone is flatter and more outward on saline.
The prob with saline is that they are much harder than the silicone.
I came very close to swapping the silicone out for saline but after a lot of thought and talking to others I decided to keep the silicone.
Good luck! Be patient. My boobs look better and better every month.

disappointed with my new ta-ta's .. exchanged took place on 7/21/10. I opted for the saline. I am happy with my saline choice, I thought I would look more perky? .. it's now been about 2 months, and I am happier with their apperance and general perkiness... it does take a while, and I thought they were smaller then what Dr. Turpin and I discussed. It took me a while, and now I will admit ... the new twins are wonderful, sassy and full of saline, as described and discussed. I have opted out of the nipple reconstruction phase, going straight to the finish line of 3D tattoo's. I have the option of nipples .. if I so chose, or change my mind somewhere down the road .. I prefer to give my tired body a rest .. My decision, my choice!
Hap .. Hap .. Happy with my saline ta-ta's!
Wait, see and watch ... Good luck to all. Normal feelings, seriously.

Thank you all for your
Thank you all for your experience with all of this, I told the PS that I wanted to be no bigger than I was before... I can LIVE with whatever I am given it is just a little shock! I had silicone put in after I talked to one that likes them and the other didn't so here I am. I guess time will tell how it will look. I called the nurse and ask her if I should wear a bra and she said " dont you put anything on until you see the Dr. next week so when I can then I will go get a comfy and pretty one. Until later hugs0
