MRI and Pancreas question

I tried asking on the other board and got no answer. I figured a term is a term and our friends here sure have loads of general knowledge.
Hubby had been bleeding during urniation (catherizes himself for over 20 years now) and bleeding into underwear at night. He also felt very ill in June and had an MRI to check for kidney stones, etc. The bleeding turned out to be caused by a HUGE prostate and it being 'cut' when he caths. But...
His urologist said 'So did they find out what the cloudy spot is on your pancreas?' Well... WHAT cloudy spot? Doctor said the radiology report said 'small cloudy spot noted on pancreas during abdominal MRI.' Almost four months and no one had notified us of any concern. I've tried looking for the term 'cloudy' and MRI but only come up with brain concerns.
We have to contact his primary for a follow up tho it was the ER at the VA that ordered the MRI.
Does anyone know what cloudy might signify?

Ask your doctor
This is cleary a question for the doctor, especially if the tech reading the scan didn't give any ideas for possibilities for "cloudy" cause.0 -
Pancreatitis?thready said:Cloudy MRI
Diane,
It would be good to get your hands on a copy of the MRI and take it with you when you see the primary dr. Also how is the PSA level?
Jan
When I was dealing with my infection in 2009, I had to get stents in my liver to drain the infection. A common side effect of that procedure is pancreatitis. After about a week, they gave me an MRI. When we were going over the images he showed me the pancreas. He said everything looked good and then said if the infection would have spread there would be a cloudy spot indicating the infection. I don't know if this helps but it might just be a slight case of pancreatitis. But definitely stay on your Dr until you get an explanation.0 -
cloudy
My first CT scan several years ago referred to a cloudy area on my stomach. It turned out to be nothing. I took it to mean the radiologist couldn't discern or define what he was seeing as real or not. Doc called it a false positive but he didn't have an explaination either.0 -
Thanks!
Jim's PSA is 'normal'. It was slightly elevated a few years ago but a retest a few months later was perfect.
Pancreatitis makes sense. He felt awful and wondered if it was a gall bladder attack. The medicine he takes for his high blood pressure can cause pancreatitis. They had put him on a form of Macrodantin that day for several weeks thinking it must be a serious kidney infection but tests came back clear (other than white cells and red cells in his urine)
Not sure how quickly we can get him into the primary and get it checked out but he's been angry and very worried since his doctor visit.
Thanks so much for the replies!0
