Lisa....remember that it's
Lisa....remember that it's not over til it's over. Progression is not good news, but it's not necessarily the end of the road, either.
Saying prayers for your mom, nevertheless. Can you remind us again what her name is?

It means so much to read these posts. Well.....more information. Although there was progression, Mom's gyn/onc decided to keep her on the Doxil for now and not transfer her to the PARP INhibitor. The doctor says that although there has been some progression it's small, and it isn't enough to switch to the Parp at this time, according to the protocols of the trial. Since there were no new spots, she(doc) thinks that means the Doxil is working. Mom called last night after her long day in the city being checked out and getting her "doxil". She's tired. I had a crappy day today. Not sure why but I am exhausted...and a little pessimistic... I don't have faith in doxil. I wish they'd give Mom the Parp before she is so worn down from the doxil....I need to understand she is in a trial and cannot get the PArp until her cancer has grown 10%...isn't there something sick about that? It hasn't grown enough? Has anyone here gotten a remission from the doxil? Anyway, feeling a little discouraged today. I have done something good for myself though....that is working out with a trainer....I went to the gym twice.......I like this board better than the caretaker board, not sure why...thanks for the prayers...I truly hate this disease....0 -

I feel your disappointment. I hate this disease too. I had progression on Doxil and was anxious to jump. Remember, Doxil can take longer to work. I look back and sometimes wish I didn't jump so soon. I did 3 rounds, scan, 2 more rounds and insisted on another scan. I probably should have given it longer...who knows. I've been on chemo nonstop since January with little success. The Parp will be there for her if she needs it. I hope when I need a trial there will be a good one for me.
Glad you are able to relieve the stress with exercise!!! I'm just too darn lazy. Since the kids are back in school I have way too much time to think now. I've been getting depressed and scared about the illness. Maybe it is time for me to get back into therapy. I've been micro organizing everything and starting with my 'to do' lists again.
How is Mom's skin holding up? Her ca125?
Good luck, hang tight.0 -

I'm so sorry to hear this, I know that you were excited about Mom participating in the trial, and it sounded promising. I find it interesting that the doctor told her she qualified and now is changing her position.
I was reviewing my CA125 history from the last 3 years and realize that overall I did get a year of holding steady on the doxil, although it did not kill the cancer. Actually, overall it did go down. I have no regrets that I did it, in spite of the skin issues.
How is Mom's skin holding up? Is she still fatigued?
Sending hugs and lot's of prayers for you and Mom today.
