With a heavy heart I post for my wife, RIP

My wife Ida passed away a month ago. That evil colon cancer took her away from us after an excruciatingly short yet intense 17 month battle. Sorry it has taken me so long to post about her passing. This is a terribly difficult thing to do. I miss her so much.
Ida spent countless hours on the CCR forum during her ordeal. She rarely posted, but she found so much comfort and support from all of your writings. She would read me many of the posts because she either liked the writer, or the subject was directly related to her treatment. Heck, some of the posts were hilarious too! Ida liked those a lot
There are some amazing people on this forum and their eloquence helped us find words that fit our feelings. I can't describe how much they helped Ida get through this. Thank you all for sharing your stories, cases, treatments and lives with others who share a common frightening bond.
I wish everyone the strength they need to continue their fights, and pray that each and every day medical research finds more ways to defeat cancer.
Respectfully,
-Nick

Nick Thank you for signing
Nick Thank you for signing in and letting us know about Ida. I guess really we will never know how many people read what is written here or how many people need this contact. I know how important it is to me. You and your family will be in my prayers. Best to you. Jean0 -
Elogant...
....and very heartfelt, Nick!
One gets a sense of what you are feeling and the emotions that you are trying to express at this time. I remember your wife on some of her posts - so glad she was able to find some comfort here with everyone. It has been a lifesaver for so many of us, who are in this deadly fight.
I want to thank you for the update on your wife - know that it cannot be an easy thing to do, so kudos to you for letting us all know. We will all miss her on the board and I know she fought fiercely, as you say.
Best regards,

RIP Ida
Hi Nick,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and condolences on the passing of Ida. I am so glad that this board was a helpful place for Ida to come and that, you too, also appreciated what she read to you from the posts.
I am so sorry you lost your wife to this monstrous beast of a disease. I do hope and am now praying that your grief will be overcome by sweet, funny memories and good times spent with your wife- that those times will soon overshadow the memories of her illness and all that it took.
Blessings to you in your future-

Dear Nick:
I am so sorry for the loss of our wife Ida.
The support this board gives both patients and caregivers going through the cancer journey is priceless.
Take care for now and take it one day at a time. If you feel up to it please come back and let us know how things are going for you and your family. You are a part of or semi-colon family.
Sincerly - Tina0 -

So very sorry
Dear Nick,
I am so very sorry to hear of Ida's passing.
Thank you for your kind words about the folks here. I am glad it was of some help or comfort to her. One of the few good things about our situation is that we have found each other and can support or be supported through this disease.
I hope that you and your family are finding each day that your loving memories of Ida help to ease the loss.

My condolences
Nick, I'm so sorry to hear about Ida. What a journey you have been on while Ida fought her battle. It's not something you will ever ever forget, yet as time goes on you will come to realize that you were privileged to share the ultimate in intimacy where there are no words in the English language to describe the bonding, the love, the vision you shared with Ida and she with you.
I know you are hurting and feeling the loss, so even coming here to the support board where Ida spent so much time reading might be a little overwhelming to you right now. But this board is not just for those of us who are fighting the battle of cancer, it is also for all the caregivers who are fighting along with their loved ones, as well as trying to deal with their own journey of being a caregiver, and then there are those who are now on their own, having lost someone to this horrid disease.... and everyone in between. If you have been touched by colorectal cancer in any way, this support board is for you... and you will find we ALL will reach out to you and welcome you to the group. Not because it is the polite, neighbourly thing to do, but because we all understand exactly what you have gone through in this battle... and that automatically makes you a member of our club. We hate the reason why you have to be here, but we would love to have you come here and know you have friends who are willing to listen or even may, in our odd little ways, be able to entertain you.
So please, come back whenever... and know the welcome mat is always there for you, and there will always be a lit candle in the window so that Ida will know you are going to be ok.
Hugggggs!

So sorry
Dear Nick,
Words cannot express my sorrow at the loss of your beloved.
I know how difficult it must have been to post this news for us, my husband found he could not post about my cancer to one of his friends, it was too difficult for him to put into words, so I know that with Ida's passing, it was with the greatest of difficulties for you to let us know. And we thank you so much for that. We too, find we must mourn those that have left us on this board. We see, we hear and our hearts are touched by everyone here, and we our saddened deeply at every loss, for we feel we know each other. So that is why I'm thanking you for posting, we are not left wondering why we no longer hear about or from her, and we can properly mourn her passing on.
I'm am glad that some of the posts gave her laughter, I'm sure Kerry was one she must of laughed along with a lot. I'm grateful for all the posters on this board as well.
We are here for you, if you need to talk, to vent, or to share memories.
My heartfelt sympathies.
