Not cancer related

Not cancer related, but need to vent. I work in childcare and I have been at the same center now for 10 years. two weeks ago, one of my first students died suddenly. he was riding his bike down a hill and his brakes failed. His brother, who is just a year older than him, was with him when he flew over his handle bars and hit a basketball court head first. This family has been a part of my life, considered them my boys, since meeting them 10 years ago. The boy was only three years old when I started and he was just a sweet child, full of life. He grew into a very polite young man and he truly enjoyed life. I have been grieving his passing as though he was my own child, having a hard time. tonight I visited with his mom, knitted her a Prayer Shawl, name of pattern, Hugs From My Angel! She was in awe when I gave it to her and I tried to stay calm when I told her, her son will be with her forever. He will live on in her heart. I truly believe she is staying strong for everyone around her. Just can't vent to anyone here, my family knows how important this child was to me, but they don't understand my grief. Sorry to vent, but just needed to talk. Thanks for reading. I will keep you in my thoughts and Prayers. Margaret

Thank you, Sheri. I just think his mother is such a brave person. One thing about living in a small town, our whole town came together to show support for this family. I have never seen so many people and children attend a funeral before in my life. He was such a special person that he touched many lives, and some of the lives were touched by just one visit from this child. Again thank you for your kind words. margaret0 -
Ahhh Margaret
I'm so sorry to hear that. When you're in child care and you see that child more hours per week day then their parents do, you develop a special bond. I'm so sorry that bond was broken, and your heart with it.
Of course you grieve, you held his hand, you wiped his tears, you watched him grow up, you
were there for so many moments in his short life.
I pray the sorrow will soon leave, and instead just memories of his joy will stay with you, and that you know he is in heaven now, no pain or grief is felt by him anymore.
How wonderful what you did for his mother.
My heart aches for your sorrow Margaret.
